I know, which is why I shake my head when people compare this to an Oculus Quest or a normal console.

Yeah, I can very clearly see where a device like this would fit into my life, and it’s decidedly not as console stand-in that’s plugged in to the living room TV.
Hey, please please please note that the link in there is a SCAM.
Bumping this for visibility - kill the link to the scam in the article.
Eh, I don’t know - other than being sans-serif those fonts are pretty dissimilar and those colors also work well together for design purposes.
I never really got the whole “it was only done by X people so don’t criticize it” perspective.
The game looks like a hell of a lot of fun, and it looks like an amazing effort by such a small team. I'Excited to try it on GamePass.
I remember playing through this and coming to that “shoot yourself in the head” bit fairly early on. It did feel disturbing, and I wondered if it was going to be paid off later on in the game in a way that properly contextualized the moment. In fact, it was disturbing enough that I was hopeful it would be paid off and…
Definitely. Valve has a great history supporting hardware - Steam Link and Steam Controller, two discontinued pieces of hardware that didn’t sell nearly as well expected, are still receiving updates and still very usable. For a point of comparison, ask early IoT adopters how they’re faring with updates to unsupported…
Didn’t have as smooth a process, but not bad. Hit a few errors, kept occasionally trying during a meeting, then it eventually went through. A little annoying maybe, but what isn’t these days? If that’s the most frustrating part of my day I’ll call it a win.
Completely agree with the central tenet here, they target very different markets, but disagree with your take on the Steam Deck.

Well it’s Connecticut, so I expect he was honking and yelling, “get out of the way, tree!” as he plowed into the thing.
“Because they were dealing with unstable explosive materials in addition to the fireworks. Detonating them in the containment vessel on-site was less risky than trying to move them. Imagine if this explosion happened while the truck was being driven...”
Do the same? You mean the US government should decide what people can and can’t do with a computer that they’ve purchased, in their place of residence, using electricity they pay for? Huh.
No no no, don’t be silly. They’re speaking for all “marginalized groups.”
I’ve never understood this hot take. They’re still supporting and updating a pair of products that were discontinued years ago and that never sold well to begin with. How is that being burned? What are the expectations here?
In the abstract, isn’t every quest in a game a fetch quest?
I’ll be glad when this is addressed as well. Think about what that would mean - finally, nearly every other problem will have been taken care of so people can turn their attention to addressing truly trivial annoyances. I’m really looking forward to that day.
What NFTs are and what people think they are are two different things.
