In Trubisky’s defense, Marquise Williams was an excellent college QB. Although to me Trubisky is most likely the second coming of Jay Cutler.

As a Bulls fan, I agree with this.
This complaint could apply to pretty much every sport. Catch rules/penalties in the NFL, fouls in the NBA, offsides in soccer, etc.
You’re correct in principle, but the reality is some other city will give the MLS the kickbacks they want. Why turn down a handout?
I’ve seen it reported that the NHL offered to allow the players to play if they removed the early opt-out option in the current CBA, and the players declined. So while they might care, it’s clearly not a priority compared to monetary issues.
Kaep reportedly wants at least $9m per season and a chance to compete as the starter. Neither of those would happen in Chicago, hence the Sanchez signing. If he’s not willing to take a backup job, then that’s the biggest reason he isn’t signed right now. Similar to Cutler.
The funny thing is they were willing to pay for a new football stadium. Kroenke didn’t care, he wanted to get the hell out of St. Louis.
This idea is so obviously correct I’m amazed I’ve never thought about it before.
I’m a Bear fan as well, completely agreed on Glennon. At least it’s really only a 1 year deal, they can cut him after the season without any future penalty.
The past 3 seasons Kaep has ranked 30, 34, and 29 in DVOA among QBs throwing at least 200 passes that respective season. He hasn’t been even average since defenses figured out how to stop the college-style offense he and RG3 ran their early years. And I’m guessing he isn’t willing to take a pure backup job like…
The fact that I’ve heard the Bears are interested in Glennon but not Tyrod Taylor makes me want to fire Ryan Pace...out of a cannon into the sun.
Do the people saying that actually dislike Draymond? I was a much bigger fan of the NBA in the 90s (possibly because I’m a Bulls fan) and he’s one of my favorite players in the league.
I agree with what you said about the Big 12 expelling Baylor, but there’s no way KU should be included in that list. KU has absolutely no leverage. Realignment is almost entirely about good football and/or market size, basketball is almost irrelevant. KU has neither. See the reasons why UCONN is not in a P5 conference.
W.I.N.T.
I agree with you, but it won’t matter by the end of the season. Clemson has already played all of their tough games, while Michigan still has to play at OSU. Win that game and Michigan will leap them.
But the buyouts aren’t bonuses or anything like that. They’re used so that schools don’t have to pay the full remaining amount on the contract in case they fire a coach early. It’s the same principle as a signing bonus on an NFL contract. For example, Ferentz’s contract will pay him a total of $45MM over the next 10…
Is there any evidence that the targeting rule works in reducing the number of head hits?
As a pedestrian in Chicago, I find cyclists to be 100x more inconsiderate than drivers. Most of them never stop at stop signs or lights and I’ve been hit twice by idiots going the wrong way down a one-way street. And they aren’t even the bad ones that ride their Divvy’s on the sidewalk.
Cutler’s contract pays him an average of $18.1M per year, which is the 16th highest among QBs. He’s right behind Kaepernick and ahead of Osweiler. I agree that he’s just an average QB, but his pay is commensurate with that. QBs all just have astronomically high salaries now.
So, Tiger Woods (age 40, worked out like a fiend took steroids for years) is less healthy than Phil Mickelson (age 46, with manboobs and psoriatic arthritis).
