Apple's IPS display trumps this device's TFT screen. The increase in PPI won't make that big of a difference.

@St3v3: Now the specs on Apple's site do claim that 4GB is possible. Why did Steve not mention that? hmmmm

The 1.4ghz C2D chip with 2 GB of non-upgradeable ram makes this very unappealing. At over a grand it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. For the highest end Air you can buy a 27 inch iMac. I don't need to surf the web from my couch that bad.

I think the real purpose of this article is to spark us to defend Evernote. It's so superior to many tools out there. I do like Simplenote yet can't image why it's better than Evernote for plain text organization.

Delicious, Read It Later, and Instapaper look a whole lot more appealing now.

I've read that IE9 will not support the "transition" property in CSS3. If this is true then it will still lag behind in the standards department. Transition tags are a part of what is supposed to replace Flash. It is just too big an omission to look last. Microsoft needs to make IE9 the most cutting edge browser in

@geiko: it is for iOS folks. In fact, their iPhone app is quite nice.

Springpad and TeuxDeux are odd omissions. Particularly TeuxDeux.

@slaughter33: That was a big draw for me to go to Android. They come out with new hardware monthly. Meanwhile, iOS devices move at a glacial pace. Also, I've enjoyed three major software updates in 9 months. Sure Apple rolls out little updates for the iPhone every once in a while. As an iPod Touch owner I can say

I just love the whole e-fuse protection coupled with the star wars theme... Verizon and Motorola making phones for toddlers.

You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies. :)

Unless they announce unlimited free non-DRM music it wont matter what they roll out tomorrow.

Not only is it very functional but it's quite stylish indeed. Swiss Miss really hit a home run with Teux Deux.

Clearly this Roman is looking at lolcats!

@crikerat: Because nothing else says "better sounding music" like... coverflow?

@Dan Heinz: No, the developer of Instapaper is a huge Apple fanboy and can't be bothered to embrace the (now dominant in the U.S.) Android mobile platform. Too bad because his service really is nice.

The reason why Blockbuster going away is a good thing is because it'll force movie studios to quit screwing Netflix and their customers. They always use Blockbuster as their leverage. That goes away when Blockbuster disappears. Netflix is about progress, Blockbuster is about preserving the studio's old and busted

@vein11: Yup, in a year. Intel went on record as stating that Light Peak devices will begin to be manufactured at the end of the year and they have a number of hardware vendors ready to start production. Foxconn, SAE, Corning, etc... They've already demoed Light Peak in a Laptop last spring. By August of next year
