eh, I wouldn’t say this is entirely the hardware’s fault. They got Nier running decently on it, and Game Freak already has plenty of practice on the Switch (it’s the second generation that has debuted on this console!).

Almost all of the Transformers have been explicitly gendered. Arcee has always been a she, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime have always been he’s, Wheelie is maybe a he, who even knows, but I spent a lot of time as a kid trying to figure it out because of their voice.

I’ve always assumed that all of the cybertronians were non-binary, certainly some of the cybertronians were more masculine and some were more feminine but none were ever traditionally binary-gendered. Certainly the show runners weren’t thinking too hard about this but still I never read them as gendered.
