I LITERALLY JUST HAD THIS CONVO WITH SOMEONE ON MY WORK BREAK

pardon what was that about double dash

    well maybe they should start

    ilike your style

the chamber of secrets game was essentially that.

    wizard of legend. you're welcome

    heh. after effects.

yeah the map always blew. i liked how the 3d hexagonal design looked aesthetically but it was also the source of my biggest frustrations when i played it back in the day. millions of times worse with prime 2 and bouncing between worlds.

nailed it. games are no longer a thing to just enjoy, they are a way to participate in a culture. it's cool that there is culture and community around this field but it puts pressure on people to do what the culture dictates and not just take their time to enjoy what's in front of them.

i understand disliking this design approach but i think it’s not made out of laziness or even technical limitations. exploring just a bit at a time, balancing the rewards with not knowing where the next save point is, or if the next room will kill you instantly, is a big part of the tension with this genre

what an indictment of gaming culture in general that the mere absence of misogynistic tropes (and not really anything about the silent protagonist herself) made it resonate with female gamers as much as it did and still does

what absurd notion to try to silence the game because it’s a potentially traumatizing expression of the author’s own trauma. there are extensive trigger warnings. and the expression of trauma is the entire point.

Really pleased she’s not letting the negativity get to her. but tbf i don’t think anybody had a problem with her performance; it was the writing everybody was roasting

i don’t think you understand this fully. MANY people who you would not consider remotely famous make a good amount of at least supplemental income off making tiktok content and this would essentially take away a bunch of jobs.

not just an argument, it absolutely is named after him

Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan were both named after real life people in both English and Japanese and nobody caused a stink. tbf Bruce Lee is dead but his daughter can be very litigous about his brand

    tbf

i think that's an important observation.

i have never heard this phrase used in a way that didn’t piss me off immensely but i think i finally have found a context in which i can confidently and conscientiously say......

I’m not usually one to feel that bad for rich and incredibly successful celebrities, but man I got to say my heart goes out to him. He really got done dirty, and he also seems to approach everything he does with earnest love for the work. If anyone in Hollywood deserves to get screwed the way he has, it almost
