nah. not a bad hypothesis and maybe it applies to some. and of course there are politicians and businesspeople who know he’s an idiot but stand to profit from the messes he makes. but by and large his fans really do buy into his cult, wholesale. I’ve heard from and talked to enough of them to know this.

or they could just give them the toys without showing them r/transformers or whatever 🤷 you might be surprised at how easy that needle is to thread

why did you have to bring up the fact that gen 2 was 23 YEARS AGO

I’m at this weird point where i'm increasingly thinking it's not really unethical to do this kind of thing when the only real “victim” is a giant corporation that won’t suffer much for it, but at the same time being increasingly irritated at people's willingness to spoil the fun of a discovery for everyone.

him buying out that arena resulted in fighters being forced to fight for zero audience members including family, friends, and teammates, and i can tell you from personal experience the energy of the crowd has a real concrete impact on the performance of fighters. fighters in and outside of that event were furious but

exactly, i do feel bad for people unjustly put upon by this on both the dev team and the player base but boy oh boy do i get a sick thrill out of bad things happening to bobby the tick's company

“Decent internet” wasn’t even enough to run stadia at a remotely acceptable level

no, they couldn't have. they lack the competence.

harder to kill opponents, yes, but easier to stay alive. getting killed is more discouraging to newbies than failing to kill other players.

What’s especially hilarious is the line somewhere in there that literally says “Remember, racism is bad, so don’t do racial things like racism. Have fun with it but remember some races are just sometimes superior in some ways.”
