This is my generations Kennedy assassination, 9/11.  I recall exactly where I was when the Bronco slow chase occurred and where I was when the verdict came out.  That was an amazing story at the time.

Satellite radio and that dumb antenna on top of the car. Nobody wants it anymore. The service used to be commercial-free and is now only sometimes commercial free. You can get it on your phone if you want it. Unless you’re a trucker its a waste of money.

I have a fantastic use for self-driving cars. On an upcoming vacation, Avis is charging $500 to drop off the car at a location 100 miles away from where I rented it. How about use a self driving car to take itself home?

Oh man I just saw a Crown and it is fugly. Like a pregnant Venza.  I’m sure it could be helped with a better paint scheme.

Saturn, Geo, Bolt.  All affordable cars that GM abandoned because the dealers didn't like them and couldn't mark up sufficiently.

Detroit suburbs - A big 3 crew cab pickup.   F150, Silverado, Ram.

I shopped for an ID4 - it was $45k in Michigan, not $30k. And it wasn’t what I would expect for $45k. If that’s what an EV costs I’ll go with a hybrid for $10k less.

I’ll sign a lease for an EV for $500/mo today. And while the Volvo advertises the C40 lease as being $399/mo the dealers near me have it for $600+/mo.

I drove this car and there is nothing about it that makes it worth $45k.   Yeah I get it is electric so that will save what $1000 per year?   I would rather have a Golf and an extra $10k for gas.

Wow that's all I can say Wow

If they could only keep it updated. I get a new Onstar offer every week on my 2015 Chevy but I know (and I’m sure GM does too) that the whole thing is going obsolete this year because tthe 2G cell modem is not going to be supported.

Whats the logic here?  If cars in the snowmelt aren’t supposed to corrode after 12+ years, there are a ton of Dodge Caravans waiting for their recall...

Reliable communications in an emergency?” Do those FEMA guys actually listen to AM radio? We just had a 3 year national emergency that killed over 1 million Americans and all I recall hearing on that great FEMA-funded AM radio was that the whole emergency was a hoax.

I remember meeting with the owner. He was impressive, was doing urban renewal in South America and Toledo. He really cared about restoring old buildings. And I remember he was wearing boots that were worth more than my car. He had some grand plans for the facility but it required lots of brownfield dollars from the

Excellent comment.

I am skeptical. I tried to buy a Bolt EUV at my local dealer and got lease payments of 525/mo on it. Perhaps that did not include the tax rebate (the dealer had little to no knowledge of it) but it was no great deal.

PT Cruiser!

Great article.

That's a great story and a good warning!

22MPG for a hybrid? How bad is the mileage on the base Grand Cheokee?
