Tier lists—artificial ratings of a character’s viability at the highest level of competitive play—are a controversial topic in esports, acting as both a thought exercise, and an excuse. “I lost because they were playing a higher tier than me,” or “I’d be better if my character was high-tier,” are complaints you’ll

Nevada doesn’t hate California. We’re practically the same state at this point, just without their super high tax rate.

I thought the guy complaining was just doing the Deadspin tried and true method of pretending to be everything they are claiming to hate.

It’s not typically the type of thing you see in a baseball locker room. It’s a crossing over of different cultures.

Kjellberg’s decision to keep banging that drum is a bit surprising when you consider that he apologized for the stunt that set everything off, claiming that he was taking it as a “a learning and growing experience.” Moreover, in a different follow-up on March 3rd, Kjellberg said “Obviously I’m not going to see [the

Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade went f2p this weekend, so I’m going to be waging a lot of war in the name of/against the Imperium.

Same reason “rule of thumb” is. Same reason a lot of sayings are. Doesn’t really matter what the etymology of the saying is.

Plane flights? Often people have data limits and have commutes by bus?

So you’re saying you have to pick and choose how you spend your money and determine it’s value based on what it’s worth to you, which is what I was saying?

I like that. I’m going to steal that line for future use. :)

Right. It was people who used their phones deciding they never wanted to pay more than a dollar for a full release phone game. They just do not sell, so they are simply not made. It’s not right or wrong, it’s just the market.

I know plenty of people bought Stardew and Banished. I think those games were reasonably priced. The forums were still flooded on release with people whining about how overpriced it was, and damanding the game should have only been $12 or something. It’s insanity. I was making fun of those people with that line.

No, that’s not what that’s saying. English is a fun language sometimes.

You’re right. I am crying.

It was released IN THE WEST as FF3. It was initially released as FF6, but in Japan.

Ehhh I would qualify Diablo 3 as kind of it’s own thing. It’s a dungeon crawl, as opposed to a typical RPG. Honestly Diablo 3 without the levels 1-70 would be a significantly better game, if it was just 100% about the loot drops. It becomes that so fast that the short level grind seems wasteful.

The older I get the more I realize that was just old people fucking with us because they knew they could.

My nephew calls Dark Souls and any other game that remotely resembles it as “Boss game.”

The market doesn’t determine it’s value to YOU, yes. That’s part of why it works. A bunch of people loudly crying it’s too expensive while there’s still a bunch of people who buy it means the market was set right and the cheapskates can miss out.

Something I don’t see anyone mentioning yet is how perfect the Secret of Mana series is for the Switch’s pick up and play at a friend’s house thing they were going for. It and SD3 were the best couch co-op RPGs of all time.
