This game is literally the reason I use the internet. I joined the ZSNES forums back in high school to get help with patching the ROM with an English translation and got hooked on message boards.
I used to moderate for the Beamdog forums when BG:EE came out. It’s BioWare adjacent, I’d say, seeing as BG was originally a BioWare title.
Yeah this, 100% this. People shit on Junkrat in competitive play but I pick him a lot when I feel like he’ll benefit the team which turns out is quite a lot. If your McCree or Soldier (or both?) are on point, Pharah’s aren’t that big a problem.
For Honor. Finally got around to getting it now that the initial wave of hype died off.
I just like that they tweak up the game every two weeks. Just today they added the ability to eat your more useless units to inherit skills on your better people. That opened up a HUGE world of possibilities. Now I’ve got a Sheena with Swap and Obstruct. Lucina, when I farm the SP for it, is gonna be rocking Shove and…
The new daily arena quests that net you another 100 feathers per has been useful but until they give a way to promote soneone to a 5 star unit, say, every two weeks? It’ll still not be enough.
Most the armor units are garbage, except Hector, Effie and Sheena. Draug is a total joke. Guy tickles people because his strength is fucking terrible AND they give him a brave sword so you’re only looking at an 8 power weapon if you manage to get a 5 star version. And I haven’t seen anyone with a 4 or 5 star Gwndolyn…
Well, not exactly. Just because those ones are even more brutal than perma-death. A single unit goes down and you lose.
Fuck the tier lists especially if that’s what is keeping you from enjoying the game. They are made by people who look at a sheet of paper and don’t think about the effects on the actual game. I’m not saying they are wrong, per se. Anyone listed as a top tier unit is probably going to be really good regardless of team.…
NTR?
There’s a lot of rock/paper/scissors in this game, but personally I think Hector is hugely overrated. He crumples to sword users in general. Like, literally any of them. I have a Roy, Lucina, Lyn AND Eldigan if I really wanna go sword heavy. (I swear to christ if I draw another 5 star red unit before I get a 5 star…
The issue is, if you are on top of your item durability, it’ll never be remotely an issue. Like, not even the tiniest bit outside of a challenge run where you ignore bonfires. So what ends up happening is they made something that fits my best case scenario, where it’s negligible.
I specifically bred Owain and Inigoto have 50+ skill in certain classes so I could give them Armsthrift and have it work 100% of the time.
Games that do item durability right:
Counterpoint: If you work for a humor site, and you’re not funny, you deserve to lose your job.
Do you not see the irony in replying the way you did to someone making a joke?
The Dark Souls game also happens to be really good. I actually dislike the vast majority of kickstarter board games I’ve played; that one won me over nearly instantly. It’s simple enough to understand, yet complicated enough to still be thrilling.
Ethan, I felt like you need this song right now:
I feel like it’s natural to focus on the reactions of the people freaking out at the win, but let’s take a second to appreciate Dogura right here. Dogura’s reaction in this clip is amazing. He even smiles when he realizes the guy who just beat him was confused!
