I think that’s a really important point, that he may be/could building a case against her. It is one of the best reasons for getting out now. If she does have an emotionally rough time after the birth of the baby, child custody proceedings could go against her.

You are so right, and it is completely within the realm of possibility that LW1 will end up coparenting this child with her ex-husband AND his skanky girlfriend.
