He gives a great (and potentially career-endangering) performance in ‘Hard Candy’, which is almost a two-hander with Elliot Page. He’s anything but dull in that.

He was good in Fargo season 2, but it may well have been that everyone else was so much better that he was lifted by association.

Not necessarily. Sometimes a bad trailer means a bad movie, but other times the studio just has no idea what a movie is about and makes a trailer that tries to force a movie into a genre which it just isn’t which makes it look terrible. Like “Drive”. I love that movie, but the trailers made it look like a cheap “Fast

KC works as a university janitor, sneaking into professors’ offices and downloading satellite data, and he figures out on his own that the moon’s orbit has altered.

Either he’s using “original” to mean “not based on existing IP”, or he’s completely delusional. Possibly, both.

True, but at least this is in SPACE. If I have to choose between this, and say, The 355, for some brainless action, I’m picking the sci-fi one every single time.

There’s good lizard-brain entertainment, there’s harmless time-wasters, and there’s pointless ineptitude.  This is clearly the latter, so I appreciate the heads-up.

I find it hilarious the Emmerich is trying to claim that Marvel isn’t doing anything original anymore.

Do these kinds of movies even need/warrant a review? If the trailers made you wanna see it, you’re gonna see it. Let’s face it. At some point—tomorrow, next week, ten years from now—we’re all going to watch Moonfall.

I actually wish they could have released this in IMAX

Why exactly does it bother you? Does it bother you to watch ultrawidescreen films on a 16:9 TV and end up with bars on top/bottom as well? Hell, lots of TV even does that - Hawkeye comes to mind.

Do you also hate IMAX, which is in a 4:3 format?

You know, even as an English lit major who has read and watched a decent amount of Shakespeare (though not in years), the first time I watched this, I found myself wishing I had re-read the play beforehand, because I only remembered the broad outlines, and the language is beautiful but, yeah, not always immediately,

“Macduff was from his mother’s womb untimely ripp’d.”

That’s absolutely ridiculous and it’s certainly not a movie’s fault that you think something absolutely ridiculous!

Well, this whole thing is just fair is foul and foul is fair. Then over here you got favoritism.

I am, in fact, mocking a comment from the Matrix review.

And stay away from anything ‘classic’ (ahem Casablanca)

Better stay away from The French Dispatch.

refuse to believe this is real.

I think we may be past the spoiler-warning period for this particular IP.
