AGREED (and flawless gif-ing).
While I love the unbelievably descriptive turns of phrase that come up with every post about him, this one comes closest to reflecting to what I believe is his actual soul. Or what is where his soul should be.

He’s just so arrogant with his feigned innocence about being a dick.

Dayna’s piece is a good read. I read it last night, and it links to some other interesting articles, as well. It’s a sad, discouraging rabbit hole to go down.
I hadn’t thought of that point about long form pieces on Jez fading away, too, but it would kind of fit - and I hope it doesn’t happen! I’d hate to see the

I’m sorry - I’m not sure why, but that cracks me up! What kind of trouble, exactly, does your employer think will be caused by poor, dear, little Poot?!

I like that one, too! I literally JUST found it a few days ago.
:/

I KNOW.

Congrats on being in the black for however many days or hours it lasted.

SAYIN’. I will be so lost on Monday....

OMG, that should really be a thing.

On the post about Jezebel’s picks for People’s Man of the Year, there’s a whole, off-topic comment thread about this sadness:

I guess it’s not in keeping with a focus on celebrity and pop culture, but every week there are comments talking about how readers refreshed forever waiting for BCO. They’re killing - or maybe disowning? putting up for adoption? - a really popular, solid staple of the site.

I want to wear a black version of the pink feathery one while I mourn Kitchenette and Millihelen. :(

ALL OF THEM!!

So there’s at least one positive.
Unless it’s just because they’ve found a less functional replacement ...

Agreed! Whoever is lucky enough to get Pinkham (as with so many former Gawker staff) has a built-in following to add to their existing readership. There are a few I’ve followed since they’ve left, and I’ll be trotting along behind Pinkham wanting BCO scraps, too!
I’m with you - these are the biggest reasons I check in

Hahaa! You *nailed it* with that! It’s exactly something my bff since third grade, or my sister and I would repeat for the rest of our existence.

KITCHENETTE?!!! Noo... Doesn’t everyone love BCO? Unaccebtabru, on almost all counts. Also, I really kinda love The Vane. Thought all of these were pretty popular... Sorry to see them all go but wish them the best in new adventures. <3

My 12-year old cannot stop repeating this phrase rn. :P

You’re so right. And your comment mirrors what I said when b-i-l tried to convince me that MINORITY DOCTOR Ben Carson would be more appealing to science-loving me. I was like, nah, he’s not better; he’s just quieter. :/
I really hope it’s neither of them. None of them. Least worst is no kinda choice.
