Mr. Phillips walking out of the life bubble would be a good explanation. The rope confused me, because I was like:”How he gon’ launch that boy into space with a rope on him???”

That being said, wasn’t Ozzy building catapults?

Well, it was WAY easier to follow a conversation in disqus...but also, it was a complete pain in the ass to get your kinja account set up. I eventually gave up on linking to my old comments. Shit was just broken. A lot of the best commenters just went “fuck it”, as did an enormous amount of the average users.

It’s really not tho. Projection does the same edge blurring/grain obscuring magic that lower resolutions do...and there wouldn’t have been 80 years of chemical aging and wear on the print as seen in the theater, to say nothing of the color shift (even if B&W, the levels change over time).

You know what’s better than banging a supermodel?

Banging TWO supermodels.

Sorry. I always say that when people needlessly do a this OR that thing, when this PLUS that is always best.

That fella’s crazy!

...I’m...um...not in the demo that can say THAT.

SUBTLE???? I take it you haven’t seen Top Hat.

Meh. I watch a LOT of old movies, and aside from a 60 gig fan-sourced Star Wars that used the very best parts of every one of the very best extant film examples, it just tends to make the grain, noise and shit (hairs, stains, scratches) show up more.

Like, when I went 4k, I grabbed the very highest quality rips of the

Kinda sorta related, when I got my first CRT monitor, I was in the middle of a year-long bout of Civ 4...and was just astonished how much shittier it looked on the new, higher-res monitor. Same with Warcraft. There was a beneficial softness to the edges of things that we are only just getting back to with 4k...kind of.

I’d make fun of this, but I am hopelessly addicted to radio airchecks, which are just old radio taped at the time of broadcast...DJs, music, ads, news~everything. Throw a bunch on a memory stick and you’re cruising in an era-appropriate firebird back in time, no matter how modern your car or stereo.

...like these, from

I figured it was just one of the settings on the Dejarik hologame table...but it just ain’t the same, maaaan.

Internet porn?

In my headcanon Star Wars’ technology is the result of early, disastrous experiences with networking and AI, which is why you have localized non-networked AIs and all of the important connections (death star data point) are hard-wired.

...I’d say this AI exists in some form still, which is why you have all

:(

That first porn is going to be a real treat!

Ugh. I can't even talk to you when you're like this.

The family stuff always kind of annoyed me, but I loved the giant/cosmic stuff. There was a run of FF from about 40-60 where pretty much every issue introduces some new GIANT concept that was my favorite run of pretty much anything.

I loved Kirby’s ‘70's DC stuff too where it was just unfettered creativity. That

History is full of team players who don’t realize they are part of a team.

I always liked FF for its huge concepts...which was basically a Kirby trait.

I know this is oversimplifying, but analyzing their work with and without each other, Lee was the family squabbling and Peter-Parker-is-so-put-upon stuff, Kirby was the Space gods/Galactus/universal mythology/universe building.

MAKE MINE KIRBY!
