The drivetrain is fully capable of more speed, the indy engines are restricted in power vs. say....a road course engine. They’re pulling them back a lot.

While it will almost certainly explode, that’s the spirit of hot rodding right there.

I’ve always wondered what it’d be like if we just let them rip, no artificial limitations. Let the teams run full engine power, best tires we can make, etc.

If my costs are going to increase by 5% YOY and I’m only making 4.2% right now then yes.....it becomes related for me as a business owner. That’s not to say inflation will stay at 5%, I’m merely pointing out how a board of directors has to plan for the worst case scenario.

But a lot of things are up from last year, hence 5% inflation. Labor, health insurance, heating and cooling for buildings, etc. I was speaking generally, but acting like car companies making 4.2% profit is some insane money grab is ridiculous.

Did you read the article? It's not about dealer markups.

This isn’t about automakers, car prices, hell it’s not about the auto industry at all.

If I’m paying 5% more than last year for steel, or aluminum, etc....how exactly am I going to lower the price?

Um....if car prices are staying the same but inflation is at 5%, technically car prices are dropping.

I mean, compared to a 296 or 812 it certainly is. By Ferrari standards that’s an SUV IMO.

Eh, I think you could say the same about combustion performance. Regular C8s and C8 ZO6s provide performance that’s approaching Ferrari levels, but for way less money. Doesn’t stop people spending 4x as much on a Ferrari.

It certainly is right now, but people said the same thing about home computers and the internet.

A lowered “ST” Ranger with this engine would get me really interested in buying.

Ferrari: “We will never build an SUV”

Even as a Ford guy I’d have the Colorado over this. That’s some generic styling right there.

I mean, based on the Bronco Raptor this was inevitable.

But for some reason the canyon version just....looks nicer.

Again, a sport that relies on extreme engineering nuance will never be a “spectacle” like the NFL.

Even at a completely equivalent price spec for spec, I’d have this over the fullsize.
