Building on the rusty car advice, which is excellent advice, just spend the money to start with a decent car in general.

Integra Type-S
Yes, and it’s hilarious the universal hate for the price.
In the days of $52k STARTING price 4-cyl Acuras, none of this pricing seems that bad.
The other answer is M340i, or if you can live without 4 doors a Mustang GT. 7600 RPM V8 makes up for a lot of faults.
One thing to consider here is that the Integra Type-R was a much more radical transformation from a Civic than the new one is. This new one is a Civic Type R with a different badge and bit more leather.
This is essentially an M340i competitor at that price point. Lol.
Prepping a course for indycars is WAY different than prepping for F1. Modern F1 cars can’t deal with the bumpiness of long beach the way it is.
When I meant speed, I meant lap time...poor wording on my part!
The level of prep you’d need to make LBGP safe for F1 cars would triple the cost of the race easily. Indy cars are way, WAY more tolerant of bumps and uneven surfaces, the current F1 formula is so dependent on undercar aero that you’d have massive crashes there.
I think that you’d need to make a change to the powertrains. It’s technically interesting how complicated they are and how difficult it is to make them reliable enough to last the required amount of time, but powertrain failures ruin the racing and the vast majority of fans don’t give a shit if the teams are using a…
I’d pay to see that.
Could you imagine the euphoria in Mexico? He’d be a national hero overnight.
It’s funny because other teams have outright speed, Redbull just seem to be able to manage their race pace and strategy better than anyone else. Watching that qualifying I didn’t feel like Redbull was light years ahead of everyone.
Interesting, I’ve never thought of Miami as a glamour city. It’s probably the most “glamourous” city you could get to agree to something like that though, LA and SF would tell you to pound sand for a dirty combustion race, LOL at trying to race F1 cars through NYC or Chicago.
I really like Perez. Would love to see him win the title!
Famous last words....
The issue is with the way land is used/converted to make corn. This is a broader issue with farming in general, the destruction of rainforests and such to be replaced with corn which isn’t as effective at CO2 scrubbing as say...trees.
Wait....your current job has time off aside from vacation?!?!
I guess what I’m saying is: the reason DTS worked so well and brought so many fans is that it was the complete opposite of what F1 normally do. They focused on the personalities, not the cars.
