Not when it’s their primary, or only, vehicle.

I suspect it’s mostly EVs that have no dealer network like Tesla.
I think Gran Turismo has to be #1 here. It taught video game companies that making a “simulator” was worth the time and effort, and that users care about the cars and interaction.
ICE COLD
So, it’s basically an RX-7.
Get a GT3 and it’ll appreciate much more than the Corvette.
I have a hot take on this:
Definitely a weird situation for the people who work there, it’s far enough from Chicago that finding a job within driving distance will be tough. Not exactly a manufacturing hotspot.
Longevity and ease of service to not mix well with 12k RPM. You also have to understand that Cosworth did this on a shoestring budget compared with what AMG spent on the One. AMG probably spent more on CAE than Cosworth spent on the whole project.
Well, the engine is certainly impressive, but the 70% of torque at 2500 seems like an odd thing to highlight as it’s the least impressive part of the engine.
As someone who designs engines....it’s not.
I’m betting it’ll be closer to AMG One than Honda Civic.
Eh....70% at 2500 isn’t actually that impressive for an engine with full VVT.
$15k in 1997 is over $28k now. Factor in the fact the modern Ecoboost would wipe the floor with the ‘97 Cobra in every performance metric while being more comfortable and it doesn’t seem like a bad deal.
Yea, I know a lot of people celebrating their 5-6% raises not realizing they still have less buying power.
$33k in 2015 is over $42k in 2023. Inflation is a bitch.
Keep in mind, the stuff they’re buying to make the vehicle has gone up a lot in the past 2-3 years. That 9+% inflation hit everything.
Really puts the 2023 price of a GR86 into perspective.
The reality is that Merc’s dominance up to 2021 of the hybrid era was largely due to their powertrain advantage. The powertrain advantage is gone, and now RB are dominating in the area they tend to over the last 10+ years - aero.
This would have made sense when you couldn’t do work from the air, but now the flight is just office time.
