Maybe it's because I'm from that era, but I think the 575 is great looking.

Yea....I'll take the rusty broken one, thanks.

Using an electric motor to turn the wheels is definitely what we should be doing, the argument is where the electricity to power that electric motor comes from. Using a power station with transmission losses, charging losses, and battery heat losses...not to mention the issues with battery production, isn’t necessarily

We’ll get fusion working before there’s a major breakthrough in battery tech.

This. We need to be exploring Hydrogen and sustainable fuels as well.

Exactly. What no one seems to be talking about is that brake specific emissions are a dumb way of specifying this, we should be focusing on mass emissions because you can improve those with aero and rolling resistance.

While this is a lot of money, the person buying a GT3 probably spent this much on a custom paint color and spent three times this on their carbon seat option.

Came here to say this, thank you.

This isn’t about getting the greatest possible benefit or even approaching the greatest possible efficiency. This is about getting any benefit at all.

No, the low hanging fruit of the internet response world is completely ignoring facts, math, and data.

Ah...you’re a troll. The subtlety of your trolling is commendable, it’s actually really funny!

Conversions will never be widespread, the only people who will do this are enthusiasts.

This is where simple math comes in.

It won’t make any measurable difference. Their attention, time, and money could be directed elsewhere.

Maybe, but I suspect the number of deaths from an improperly installed cylinder head are pretty low. I’d be surprised if even 20% of these conversions were wired safely.

Hadn’t thought of that, the crash problems alone are frightening.

Even if the price comes down, the real issue here is going to be safety with high voltage setups. The first time some enthusiast dies the lawyers will be ALL over the companies making this stuff.

This seems....odd? More of a marketing/political exercise than anything that will make a dent. How many miles will these cars be driven in their lives?

B16 CRX. I never knew the joy of absolutely thrashing an engine, the revs, the shifts, etc while not actually going that fast. You could hit 8k on every single drive in that car, it was soooooo fun to drive.

I agree, with almost everything on this list, but I had a Taos recently as a rental and couldn’t believe how good it is for the price. Would make a great cheap daily.
