Calling people mentally ill who aren’t is hateful. He also says these women should be kept in men’s prisons. He’s an influential person, and this kind of discussion is harmful for their rights and safety, not their feelings. No one’s bitching about feelings here.

He never goes so far as to actually refute his prior beliefs, only saying :who the fuck cares if there’s another checkbox?” It’s as though he was saying “Listen, I don’t like them either, but really, an extra check box I can ignore isn’t going to kill me.”

Was his piece on how children deserved it? No. He probably found some humor. There’s definitely humor to be had in any situation.
