I'm saying don't go out and spend $200 on a slow tablet with user interface issues. Instead, save up for a few months, and get an iPad.

Do they not know about "find my iPhone"?
Eh, it's a decent analogy on the surface, but I think the netbook one makes more sense. People got a Wii for the motion controls, or Nintendo's exclusives. People get a Kindle because it's a cheap tablet. It was the same story with netbooks, people got them instead of a laptop because the price was so low.
Many have had the issue of their kids using it. There was a news story not long ago about a kid who bought all of her Christmas presents using Mommy's Kindle Fire. People have had a similar problem with the in app purchasing on the iPad, although parents can turn that off and lock access to preferences away from kids.
That's why I see the Kindle Fire as the "netbook of tablets". It's cheap, gives a taste of the tablet experience, and honestly, the UI looks good. It's got a future, but the first generation is definitely to be avoided.
Tell me about it. I should make it something like "Andy the droid", maybe then when I'm critical of non-Apple products, people won't be suspicious of me.
Well, I've never been stabbed, but I'm going to take other people's word for it, and avoid a painful experience.
Yes, because there are common issues among people who took an unbiased approach to it, rather than going "I have a tablet!". The small, inaccurate screen, the on off switch being on the bottom. If you haven't noticed that last bug yet, you've never tried resting it on something while you read.
Yeah. Amazon has gotten plenty of feedback, I'm sure the next version will be a lot different.
Haven't used one yet. Not going to waste my money on one just to try it, so I go off of articles I've read online.
It's got the Kindle name. The Kindle is a great ereader. People just assume that Amazon will make a good, cheap tablet as well.
Being logged in with 1 click buying (and unable to turn it off), no lock, buggy gestures that aren't always interpreted, space between the top glass and the screen, no buttons, a bug that prevents the use of WiFi on a device with only 8GB of storage that relies on cloud storage, stolen devices have charges on Amazon…
Have you really driven a sporty FWD car? There's plenty of fun to be had. Just because it's a bit harder to loosen up the back end doesn't mean there's no fun in FWD cars.
Ah, but her line was the one that made me laugh the most.
I wonder what's holding up the consumer version of the 2013 Focus ST if the ST-R could get to market before it.
Yes, let's all ignore the massive security hole in Windows Phone 7 so we can all be happy little people and join together to love Microsoft's latest hilariously hypocritical campaign!
I edited this post a number of times, trying to find a complaint about iOS multitasking. Each time, I realized there was another solution for my "issue", such as the new notifications or notification center.
