Aiming at A3 and A-class is a mistake as Audi and MB customers do not cross-shop Mazda. I hope Mazda doesn’t follow Hyundai down the path of thinking they can compete with established luxury manufactures.

I still think they nailed it with the BL/BP. I had a 2005 Limited with the manual transmission, and with about $1500 in stuff I was able to firm up the suspension and unleash Sti levels of power (tune and a downpipe) in a car that people would mistake for a Camry.

At $35k it’s facing some difficult competition.
