At the time, Claremont didn’t do much with it, but in the ‘80s when he did Classic X-Men, he inserted pages of it, and had it in back up stories, essentially tweaking canon, though not a ret-conAfter that he used it much more, like in the Mutant Massacre and Inferno stories, which was carried on from there.

At best, Man of Steel is a sub-par non-cannon take on superman akin to Ultraman or Kingdom Come. Even taken as an alternate dimension asshole…

Bacon’s character seemed way closer to Mister Sinister than to Sebastian Shaw.

First Class would be my favorite X-Men movie too, but only if we leave out Logan.

I think one thing this movie deserves kudos for is how it goes out of its way to show that Steve Rogers isn’t basically this asshole:

Something relevant to Entourage’s depiction of the internet nerd writer is that he’s clearly a reference to Harry Knowles, who at that point was a pretty potent figure in nerddom and the internet more generally, rather than a stand in for nerds generally. I don’t really feel like those sorts of singular taste-making…

I have never much cared for the design of Doomsday — I think that the criticism of his look in BvS was a bit misplaced, because they did what they could with the character -- but that is a pretty damned impressive statue.

I played the PS2 version and loved it, then excitedly gave it a try when it came to the Wii, and made almost no headway into it. The Wii version is garbage, it's worth a shot on a different system.

I played Okami when it came out for PS2 and I was in love instantly. I had grown tired waiting for Twilight Princess to come out (which was just to have it as a Wii launch title which also aggravated me) but since I played them at the same time I have to give it to Okami. It out-Zelda’d Zelda.

I loved how genuinely abashed John was when Anita suggested that approach. It was such a gentle teaching moment [for him and me]. I was completely in awe of her by the end of the interview.

I thought the program was terrific.  Anita Hill, forever poised and erudite, reflected brilliant on her mistreatment before.the Senate committee.  I would love.to see.that same committee today interviewed after viewing their horrific actions 27 years ago.

Russia has become pretty much everything the right has been dreaming about for years - power available only to the rich, the ability to punish (and kill) your domestic enemies with impunity, suppression of LGBTQ people, anti-immigration, easy access to guns, etc. And the country is FEARED in a way which America is not…
