I really loved what was right with The Hulk, that was just the exasperated extreme emotions on display. Two bits of trivia on flicks covered here that deserve to be more common knowledge than they are:

I (even as a man) understand penises don’t define sex, but it’s another thing to use it as a justification for what guys in the 80s were thinking when they created the character. You know those guys were nowhere near that broad minded. Cyborg is a weird, sexless character. I was more an X-Men kid, so I just…
It’s case by case for me. More often than not, they make the movie even sillier, for me at least. But it’s definitely a matter of taste, and I wouldn’t make any hard rule about how or when it works.
I liked this so much at the time. I was a comics Spider-Man liker, but a comics X-Men lover, and the X-Men movie had been so embarrassed to be from a comic, I never loved it. This movie did love its roots, and was fairly true to the Ditko era (as Spider-Man 2 was to the Romita era).
Shit, I wrote practically the exact same thing before scrolling down to see your comment.
I played it to the end on PS2 and loved it so much I got the Wii version, thinking the Wiimote would make it better to play. It wasn’t, I barely played it at all, the brush controls were so imprecise.
There’s a big difference between jobs you don’t like doing and pushing things on other people. I’ve done lots of unpleasant jobs, but convincing people to pay for things they don’t want is the only one that corroded my soul.
Japan pronounces McDonalds as Makudonarudo, so it’s fair to say what is pronounced in Japan stays in Japan.
Yeah, he was on the shortlist of people who I felt made the world a better place, at least in terms of the mental atmosphere.
Men learn, dads learn.
Yeah, it was a good thing. Something in short supply these days. Hours later, I’m still puzzling over it like a Rubin Cube, my daughter already asleep in bed, read to with Boom Studios Incredibles comics.
I have no clue what you mean. Twitter is shit, I’ve posted there twice, read there about five times. I just thought it was shit from the start. As a result, the Internet is about 40% less garbage for me. You’ll have to spell it out if you want a more clear reply.
And often if it’s not. It’s just being decent.
I’m a 40 something dude living abroad in Asia, and I loved the first two seasons of Broad City. Season three I watched slowly, and I didn’t watch 4. If I did, I’m sure there’d be something there, but I got what I thought I would out of the first two seasons. I remember it being heavily advertised on the TV three…
I enjoyed the part of the interview where they discussed what guys can do, and Oliver’s immediate response was to confront the guy, and Hill suggested he ask the woman how she is. I’m a guy, I would have said as Oliver did. And Hill was probably right, since the dude would just accuse Oliver (or me) of White…
I’d love an article about the current racist/sexist/homophobic vogue term “virtue signaling.” Currently, when a straight white guy says anything in support of those who aren’t, or a white woman supports a POC, it’s only because they’re virtue signaling, or so the right-wing dummies like to say. They live in this bleak…
The kid is a human turd, but he should be allowed to wear the shirt...and get beaten up after school.
America is broken, prove me different.
If you ever want to blow the mind of a Japanese national, tell them that is only a New Years song. That fact is as alien to them as the use of the song in Japan is to Westerners.
Simply great concise writing here. The Abe Lincoln mic drop has been a tiresome rightwing hit and run comment strategy for too long. This is ammunition against it, though those folks aren’t fans of reading or taking things in.
