I liked the Christian-based calendar thing and I loved the whole bit on Achilles (can’t ANYTHING your Mom does be ENOUGH? Wear a big SHOE!) but oof... the first half hour or so was pretty rough and fell uncomfortably flat. Like someone else said upthread; I got the vibe that headspace-wise he was in a worse place than

Law & Order is my jam, and can I just say that Mariska Hargitay is my hero. Not only does she work on behalf of real life victims with her Joyful Heart foundation, this is a woman who has held a long time leading role on a hugely popular series for over fifteen years. For a woman in show business that is

(although neither she nor Lurleen Wallace, who ran as a surrogate for her husband in 1966, were exactly awarded the position on their own merits)

Pretty sure that they can’t decide not to serve you at 30,000 feet. At some point you are a passenger on their plane and they can’t kick you off.

Now finally, something does not seem right with this man because repeating “just kill me” over and over again is not typically something a right minded individual would do. Which would also go towards explaining why he refused to leave in the first place.

You’re actually defending this? And here I was being naive and thinking we were all in agreement that United was shitty here.

I get that a business can refuse to serve anyone at anytime for any reason, but my issue is that they ruined his chances of getting home. If they alerted him at booking, or even the day before the flight, he could have found another airline willing to take him home. Getting back to your family and job on time is worth

While I’m not an expert on airline policies, I believe that this is exactly how it works. I’m sure that if we sat down and read their policies, it’d be in there. Their interest is getting their employees to the next location, as they lose a lot more in having to pay overtime if their employees have a full day of being

“Legal” is irrelevant when you’re dealing with armed law officers.

I think the problem is that as part of human nautre, no one ever sees themselves as the bad guy. Not the pilots or the crew or security or the police. Certainly not TSA .. Not even the people who let the bleeding and confused man back on the plane after the beating. Not United management or the PR department.

Zero, you would be charged with assault if they decided to charge you.

You’d probably have to pay for the damage to the batons used during your beatdown.

This video should be shown to libertarians, followed by “this is what happens when corporations are no longer ‘tied down’ by government.”

They are cops. They are sworn law enforcement officers. The only difference is they are not issued firearms.

Because as a country we looked at what happened at Sandy Hook and decided we were ok with it.

I work in education. These incidents are incredibly hard. Schools are supposed to be safe spaces, and this shit happens too often in general, but especially in schools.

It makes you wonder what protection you’d have legally if you’d jumped in to help this guy being assaulted by non-cops. I’m guessing none.

Purple drank. Cough syrup with codeine and sweeteners, typically lemon-lime soda and jolly ranchers.

WTF is lean?! I’m so glad I’m old and don’t need to keep up with this shit anymore.
