This is a terrible compromise. So much pork. Not as quick as pure EVs. And all that BMW complication. Still requires a plug to get the EV benefit (and needs to be plugged in more frequently).

Now playing

In Phoenix the temperature is currently: “Man’s arrogance”.

Imagine defending GM being like “Yea, so what if the ignition fails when you’re driving, you don’t NEED to drive a car, just walk or ride a bike.”

The problem for me is this line:

Until they push out a half-baked update that borks that warning system.

Tesla, according to the user, replied that Dog Mode’s issues were a “known characteristic of current firmware,” that the latest OTA update did spark “a firmware issue with dog mode” and that owners should “please refrain from using dog mode for the time being.”

Climate-controlling the interior of a vehicle uses an absolutely trivial amount of power compared to actually moving one — keeping your dogs cool while you shop on a hot day is almost free functionality in terms of power usage.

Elon hates dogs!

Seems wild that he’s earned the nickname “SAG Harbor Nazi” but the worst examples we’ve seen are a ticket for a u-turn and driving with a cell phone.

I wonder if anyone can begin to calculate how much energy has been wasted on crypto; the most epic waste of energy in the history of the world. But I’m sure it will be beaten soon by crap “AI”.

This is so nuts that somebody would design a car like this.  What problem are they solving, having these electrically operated doors?  It’s so stupid, I don’t get it.  Also flush door handles, what problem do they solve?  They look cool I admit, but other than that, why?  Looks like they might actually be dangerous.

Well, you see, linking the two would require sensible consumer friendly engineering.  That’s not something Tesla does.

It baffles me how a vehicle designed to hold 90 plus kwh of electricity in it’s battery pack cannot keep a 12 volt battery topped off.

I can only imagine that after everything that happened with Mitch McConnell’s sister in law, his family is now only 99.5% confident in Tesla, obviously a huge jump down from the 100% they had before.

“As for Sanchez and her Tesla, she says she’s a fan of the brand, but told AZ Family that this latest episode has shaken her faith.”

Because people are weird and inconsistent. And I’d rather they stay that way than try to conform to what will work better for the ‘bots, thanks.

85% order accuracy is pretty damn awful. Would you fly an airline that has a screw up on 85% of its flights? Would you go to a doctor that messes up that often? Would you do business with any company that drops the ball once in every 30 transactions?

It’s almost like all of this AI is not actually able to do the things they claim it can, and may never actually be able to, and shouldn’t actually be replacing people in any capacity until it can actually do the things the hype claims it can.
