When I was a kid I read Julie Andrew's fictional book "Mandy" and I LOVED it. Not sure if it would hold up, but boy did 10 year old me love that book
I'm Canadian and I have always felt very strongly that we suck at tv and movies. Music is a different story. But I think it says something about the state of Canadian television and movies that anyone with any talent whatsoever has gone to the States
