Thank you, I appreciate that! It’s encouraging to hear success stories.

I’m low FODMAP rn and it’s seriously diminished my will to live.

I think an important component in this is our culture’s obsession with gaslighting women. Any time women have sincere dietary needs due to chronic hormonal or gastrointestinal illnesses, people assume that they’re lying and just trying to lose weight, or are hysterical and have an unhealthy body image. Think about it:

As someone suffering from IBS, it sounds a lot like what you’re going through. Doctors can’t tell me what the hell’s going on either, and this is Year Three. The Low FODMAP diet (developed at Stanford) is the closest thing to a do/don’t list I’ve got: http://fodmapliving.com/wp-content/upl…

I don’t think anyone said she wasn’t, she’s obviously very pretty. However, she’s a terrible model.

Not sending people to prison for non-violent crimes is not that radical an idea, actually.

This type of compassion and decency doesn’t even come at the expense of the letter of the law; it elevates the law.

When you sit in a court of law day in and day out, it’s easy to forget that your litigants are human beings with lives outside of the justice system. Good on Judge Wolf for not forgetting and for not being afraid to sometimes let common sense prevail over the black letter law. She is a credit to the bar.

maybe you should be a better dad

Until I see one that says “Poop” in the bathroom, we won’t have reached peak signage yet.

Those signs remind me of They Live.

What kills me about this show is that they have to put some kind of phrase or words on the wall. Like in the kitchen it’ll say “Tasty treats”, or “Bless this home” or any number of inane phrases. H8 that

I mean, they’re right, but his oratory skills are special. Extraordinary. Comparing her oratory skills to Bush or McCain or Romney would be a more fair comparison.

this is so naive, i’m sorry. the fact that her body is not overly muscular has nothing to do with them choosing a non-athlete. an athlete, i agree, would have been a terrible idea. they could easily have made her buff up for the role. cavill did. affleck did. i bet you every single male actor in the DC universe did

“Judge Elizabeth Branch, who authored the opinion.” The story here is that the legislature is incompetent at writing laws. Don’t blame the judges for having to work within the democratic system.

I would question the so-called morals of Republicans who defend “traditional marriage” so vociferously, given the way he selected his wife.

Is that Nick Kroll?

I’m considering downloading but I’m not sure yet.

Seriously though, eating vegetarian a few days a week is easy and a great way to make an impact on the environment. I was vegetarian for a few years before I found affordable sources of clean food, you won’t miss the meat. If you’ve never heard of the Flexitarian Diet, it’s a good place to start :)

It’s entirely true that “ethical” food is the realm of liberal bougie types, and the reason is a combination of awareness about food ethics issues and the ability to access and pay for more ethically-produced food. But I reject the idea that it’s stupid or snobby to care about consuming food that’s produced in ways
