I got blackout drunk last weekend. Here are some things I apparently did in that state:

You know, there are Jews who actually live in Jerusalem who were absolutely disgusted by Wiesel’s advocacy on behalf of the occupation. Are they “myopic”? Are they incapable of comprehending the horrors of the Holocaust, and the need “for the Jewish people to have a safe haven”?

Is there any way we can get rid of waiting periods now?

Considering that YouTube already has Content ID and other systems in place to take down videos that use copyrighted music without permission, this is a bad idea that will hurt creative freedom and fair use.

My main issue with this is that this is not about paying artists what they’re worth (for which I am very much in favor). This is about changing the nature and purpose of rights laws to better support large corporations in the changing landscape of the internet.

This isn’t the reason that the Republicans voted it down, but I agree with it being voted down because the various lists that would invalidate a person from purchasing said guns are unconstitutional. Using secretive lists that subvert due process as the basis for denying rights sets an extremely uncomfortable…

Why isn’t anyone pushing legislation to repeal the Dickey Amendment which bans federal funding for research on guns? In the current moment it seems like that could be more toxic to vote against than actual gun control and the research could go a long way toward shifting the conversation. Even Dickey says sponsoring it…

I’m a crazy dog person through and through, but I think treating this as somehow different than the way Western countries torture the animals we raise and slaughter for food is self-serving at best.

You know? Fuck no-fly lists. They’re pretty useless. I want to see the firearms equivalent of SIP laws. Nearly every state has laws in place to make bartenders culpable if they serve to intoxicated persons. They may not be well enforced, but they’re there and legal precedent.

It’s a bit morbid and probably in bad taste but I think it would be more effective to display one of the murdered children’s autopsy photos. I want to see which asshole says no to gun control after staring at that for hours.

I had so many good things happen to me this morning, and then this happened.

Tea cup pigs don’t even exist. They are only that small as babies. People started selling them and telling people that as long as they don’t feed them a lot, they will stay tiny forever. Well yeah, they won’t grow because you are essentially starving them.

My best friend and college roommate for three years is a conservative, and was a member of the college Republicans. He was (and is) an exemplary conservative and one whom I wish the party was full of.

It’s all fun and games until every social construct breaks down and someone is murdered for the conch.

I don’t get the issue here. Are we supposed to ignore the mass consumption of an endangered species because they happen to consume it in a certain part of the world?
