China cannot weaponize my health information against me by say, selling it to a US insurance provider if by law, insurance providers are required to be transparent about the data they use, where they get it and how they use it in my example.

Yes, but if we cant prevent the data gathering - and we cant - we can stop the damage.

If it was Foster, that would be an ‘upend the applecart’ moment if ever there was one, in a good way.

They cant do that, is my point - I would want to see legally mandated transparency around (in this example) how insurance rates were calculated. A pricing model that you *have to show* that includes data that you *may not legally use* would result in a financially crippling fine.

Fair.

Transformers as MINIATURE GIRL ROBOTS!

Tessa Thompson can not only carry a damn film, she could carry a franchise, and should be allowed to do so.

Why not all three?

Unpopular take: I do not care if the Chinese government, or any government or company, uses data I give them to do facial recognition, etc. I *do* care if that information is kept secret and used against me in some manner.

...and that is exactly the point Druckmann was making in the linked article. A mob lynched two police officers and cheered afterward. That behavior is unacceptable no matter which ‘side’ were the cops and which were the mob.

That was Shutter Island.

We have a public mural in our town that includes phrases of support for immigrants and BLM, among other similar groups. Every few months some clown sprays over some of it in the middle of the night.

BR2049 - I just liked the small moments Vellanueve left in. A replicant getting hit on and hated on at the same time by his boss; same replicant plodding along doing his best when you can see that what tiny bit of emotional life he has is just worn ragged. The acting was great, and leaving it in was a good decision.

This is awesome!

Rolex’ shtick has been fine engineering throughout its history.

Re: Bob Dylan - yes they do!

Saw him 3 times.

Forget 3d, I want to see it on multiple screens with multiple angles - close ups, medium, long, arranged appropriately. A kaleidoscope view if you will.

Russo and Villanueve handled plot-heavy films without losing an emotional tie-in. I was thinking of Civil War and Blade Runner 2 specifically. I thought both were fine films, but admire the directors keeping some kind of emotional center. Contrast with Infinity War (both) and the only emotionally resonant moments in

Agree. Apologies if I missed your point the first time.
