Sometimes puppies can make older dogs feel like pups again and they get an extra boost of energy. Your older dog is probably just excited to have a new buddy to play with. Totally normal.

My local HS kept the kids in the auditorium with an assembly for the same reasons. I think most of the fear was drummed up by the parents who didn’t want their kids participating in a walk-out. So the school came up with the assembly as a compromise.

My grandfather’s sister was a retired nun living in the clergy retirement house. I visited her a few times as a teenager and it was truly awful.

I organize my closet in a specific way, which causes many eye rolls by my friends. But the hangers matching the floors are truly aspirational.

My favorite detail “She uses sturdy wooden hangers, which match her floors”.

When I was in college Anna Deavere Smith was invited as a guest speaker. She was brilliant and amazing. More insightful than what Henry Kissinger had to say. His talk was a waste of an evening; probably would have been more intellectually stimulated playing beer pong with my stupid boyfriend and his idiot buddies. 

I remember it. I feel like an old person around here too.

The cynic in me is wondering if she’s “simplifying” because she needs the money.
