^this! This is how I feel right now... I have a 2011 Sportwagen TDI with 95k miles and I couldn’t be happier with the car and the mileage it gets... it probably helps that I don’t live in an emissions testing state too!

That may be true... But I’m never getting rid of my 2011 Sportwagen TDI!
Eh, not really. IMO Volkswagen did this for sales because if they could get the cars produced for less (no urea injection means not having to pay for the injection system, therefore less money is spent!) the lower price would appeal to people... and it worked. In other words: They did it so they could give the…
LOL no... I just like to wear it when I go autocrossing (my 2011 TDI). It is REALLY comfortable too!
Check this out :)
Seriously! I’m getting tired of people making snide remarks about me when I comment on these stories... for example: “Oh look, its a VW owner who is butthurt because his car lost all of its value!”
Precisely what I am saying... they are just milking this for all that it is worth by going through the most obscure things to keep beating this dead horse.
Just stop already... I get that you are trying to ride the wave of media sensationalism, but you are just trying to go for the obscure things here! What about all the new GM vehicles that had defective ignitions? Or the Toyotas with the acceleration problem?
I have dealt with a VW dealership for warranty repairs... Once. NEVER AGAIN.
*non-flashed* TDI ECU’s that is :) or get the recall performed and then immediately get a Malone tune!
Well, if they end up just putting it in test mode full time definitely delete and tune! I’ve heard that a stage 2 Malone tune and DPF/EGR delete gets better gas mileage than a stock TDI! And they are around the 160WHP and 270WTQ range too!
I’d bet you are correct about the fix... hence why I don’t want to do it :/
If thats the case... delete and tune! I’d bet they make some sort of clause that if you don’t do the recall your powertrain warranty is void... along with the DPF replacement (once again, delete and tune!)
Eh, just keep driving it!
Sell it?! LOL nope! It has 95k miles, the resale is already gone and if the fix does kill performance and gas mileage as predicted my cats value will go up if I don’t take it in for the recall (and it would be a private sale)
What? Kansas doesn’t work like that
Just don’t take it in for the recall! What state do you live in? Emissions testing? I live in KS, so no inspections or testing EVER!
Mk6 VW Golf/Sportwagen TDI with a 6 speed! (yes that is me, I don’t claim the picture to be mine!)
I know for a while you were in Canada. You should have driven a CR140 2.0 TDI while there. They have 140hp and 236tq (flywheel of course) but seem to move out pretty decently. If you have the chance, find a CR140 TDI while you are in France and drive it
When was the last time you drove a diesel car? I DD’d a 2011 Sportwagen TDI (I know, I know) 6 speed from March 2012 to present and have racked up almost 70k miles with it. I love this car! It has been reliable, it feels fast, and it gets decent gas mileage (I’ve averaged around 37 mpg). I autocross it too! Even if it…
