I think I hurt my throat a little bit laughing so hard.
I don't actually think pop culture is pointless. But it just seems weird how quickly people are to label something as worthless in these comments sections, as if it were some kind of reflexive action taken without any thought whatsoever.
I was just commenting on this particular one because it's the newest one. Although looking back through here… I think I may like the concept of a "Great Job, Internet" article more than the execution. Most of these articles are pretty weak, tbh.
I feel like the people in the Great Job Internet comment section don't even check out whatever the article mentions anymore. They just read the article and head straight here to call it stupid.
Speak for yourself. Personally I thought Ruby's hesitant, wavering and yes, off-key voice was perfect for that song and that moment. And if you're gonna complain about plausibility that those two voices would make Estelle's voice, why do they both have American accents?
YD's face when Peridot called her a clod made me immediately think "ONE MILLION YEARS DUNGEON".
I don't think they see Peridot's views as something to be debated. And I don't blame them.
Oh, I definitely agree with that. I think that kind of thing is why Rose is so great, honestly. But I can appreciate that while also potentially reading into it as Rose intentionally setting her own feelings aside in that moment, with an understanding of what's important and what's not.
New ep was OK, but mostly already treading ground covered by "So Many Birthdays", just with some added stuff about nobody really knowing what it means to be half human, half gem. Connie was very sweet, though; I saw it coming from the beginning, but I was really struck by her sincerity about liking Steven the way he…
One thing I noticed this episode is that when Garnet asked if she was making Rose uncomfortable, Rose didn't say "No," she said "What I feel doesn't matter." I.E. she might still have her own internalized prejudices and maybe isn't totally "OK" with this kind of fusion, but she chooses to deflect the question.
That's kinda funny, since Toby has done a bunch of music for Homestuck. Clearly it's all his fault!! ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED
I was skeptical, but they won me over very quickly. Personally, I don't mind that Tom Servo's voice isn't so bassy; I don't see the need to make the new voices exactly like the old ones, that's just nostalgia wank-offery. Crow basically sounds the same as always though somehow - I could never tell the difference…
Honestly the entire time this episode was playing I was just like "A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ TEN OUTTA TEN A++" but that's just because I fucking love Peridot. What a little shit.
Or, y'know, they could employ new talent and come up with new intellectual property instead of lazily rebooting everything?
You're a pretentious fuck and I don't particularly want to read anything more from you.
Why would you WANT to write a song from the perspective of the perpetrator, though, is the question? At least, not if you don't have the intent of actually making a point, which the Rolling Stones clearly did not. Frankly, the way the lyrics read it looks like almost no thought was put into it whatsoever. Probably…
I knew I was in for some bad shit after you said "excessive and self-deceiving morality." Yo, I don't know if you know this but we should have an excess of morality because morality is good, and wanting people not to write songs about how cool it was that slavers were rapists because of some hypersexual stereotype of…
That's pretty much actually what they did though. Fuck the Stones.
Honestly, last episode was rushed and clunky to me. I feel like it was a solid B.
