I think this is actually true. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think more people die playing golf than any other sport. Take from that what you will, but I'd like to think it's less because golf is popular among older people and more that GOLF IS FUCKING XTREME.

Yeah, and all soccer players do is just run around on a rectangle!

But the only articles I can find (which aren't reviews) about Depression Quest by Grayson are from Rock, Paper, Shotgun. So why is Kotaku getting dragged into this? Because a dude wrote an article, published on a different site, about a game created by someone he possibly had sex with?

...when this guy from Asheville came in...

Apples didn't even crack the top twenty. That makes me happy, because FUCK apples.

Which didn't happen, right? At least in this case. I don't know the whole story, but Grayson never reviewed the game, so I don't really see a problem for Kotaku.

I'm seriously disappointed in the lack of marching band on this list. Seriously, marching band gets fucking INTENSE, as any band kid from Texas can attest.

Can something be "more" of a sport? I would argue that something is either a sport, or it's not. So be curious no longer! They are both sports, and that's all they can be.

In regards to NASCAR vs. F1, I've always explained that in F1 you race against the track, while in NASCAR you race against the other drivers.

Metroid Prime is still one of my favorite games of all time. That game alone was with the price of a GameCube. Of course my favorite 3D Zelda was also originally on GameCube :)

I'd be more embarrassed by the fact that I bought an Atari 7800. Either way, you bought a 7800 and then didn't buy another console until the PS2? And you apparently never played on a Nintendo system until the Wii came along.

So the first console you ever owned was the PS2? Cool. And that seven year old PS3 you have? One of the reasons it cost $600 when you bought it was because it could play PS2 games.

Backwards compatibility is not a required feature in consoles. Hell, I can't think of a single major console that even did BC before PS2. People think Sony and Microsoft just decided, "Eh, fuck the last gen. We don't need backwards compatibility," but in reality, the PS3 and PS4 are so different hardware-wise that

They continued making games for PS2, but they weren't taking PS3 games and porting them to PS2, with the exception of sports games.

It's less about this game specifically and more of a general worry for the future of the industry.

As much as I hated the pending comments system, I'm glad to see the company attempting to fix the problem. Good on you, Gawker.

Thanks for saying what I was trying to, only much more eloquently!

Have sales of next gen (now current gen) been slow? The PS4 especially has done remarkably well despite the fact that most of its games can be played on an eight year old console because publishers are scared to push the industry forward. I didn't realize 10 millions units sold in nine months was considered slow.

As a mostly PC gamer, I'll give you +1 for this comment.

And that's the problem! Why buy a next gen system when they're releasing all of the games on the old systems too?

PC is a totally different beast, and shouldn't be brought up in the argument. It's a much different market.
