That’s what “Project 2025" is about, among other things.

That budget is a bit challenging. I’d go the “friends and family” route and try to find the best car at the price point with a maintenance history and/or “sense” of ownership history. Then adapt. Having FT dog responsibilities at that age sounds about like having a kid.

Came here to upvote the B-series. I had a 93 B-2200 bought used for basically peanuts and wish I still had it.

So disappointing because GM had a technical edge and great idea, but I don’t think they did a very good job with marketing and PR. I remember a lot of chatter that Volts MPG was bad compared to Prius, which Toyotastans wouldn’t shut up about, but which misses the point.

Nah. We’re only worth keeping safe as long as week keep paying taxes.

Their stupid name alone is enough reason to shut them down.

The court has already invalidated much of the federal beaurocracy’s ability to regulate anything, so I can see where this is going. We’re f’d.

Too late.

For the bus nerds, don’t forget “Ground Force One,” on an armored modified Prevost X3-45 VIP motorhome chassis.

It needs to be a small EV or hybrid*, probably from China. Cheap, affordable, useful. Range doesn’t need to be exceptional, just good-enough for a commuter car or second car. This was the path for econoboxes of yore- cheap first car or second car. Focus on range is overblown.

And I'm sure for whom a Miata would be too “girly.”

A toy for people with more money than brains. In my area they’re also test platforms for most of the LED “accent” lighting sold on eBay, Temu and Amazon.

I’d consider a base model Versa with a stick shift if it were a hatchback. It’s kind of impressive in its own way.

Do you really think a super-rich entitled autistic white South African dude who grew up during the apartheid era and who’s family wealth came from mining really gives a darn about the black kids doing his work? Really?

And worst of all, it’s probably in Texas.

Agree. I got minor rear bumped once on 95 somewhere between Woodbridge and Fredericksburg VA. I was terrified to get out of the car and when i did I jumped the guardrail.

I last purchased a car (from a dealer) in 2014, and in 2006 before that. These were the last two instances that I can recall seeing dot-matrix printers in use. So I guess this CDK stuff means that they’ve finally evolved a little?

Private equity kills everything.

Someone who lives in Annapolis is geographically and culturally closer to being a Baltimoron than a Washingtonian.

Annapolis has about zero.
