I live in the region and Marylanders seem to have an irrational commute tolerance. I realize he might not be going from center-to-center so to speak, but a 75 mile one-way commute from Annapolis to Leesburg VA is 74.8 miles, to Manassas is also 74.8 miles. Thats insane.

I’ve put off a new-car purchase for 5+ years now. What I have is paid for, reliable, and suits my needs fine. For me it is not interest rates that have turned me off, it is new car prices, and now especially - insurance. My rate is up 29.8% over 1 year ago. My monthly insurance expense as a middle-aged single man

Cars then had excellent passive airflow though. Starting with the front- notice the cowl intake is flush with the hood. It takes in air over the hood from the outside and it is separated from the engine bay. The outboard vents in the dash have levers to select outside fresh air, or close them if the HVAC is

As a 2nd Gen Civic owner and fan, these were kind of radical at the time, and it me awhile to warm to them. The rear especially was like “WTF, a Gremlin?” That kind of severe angularity just wasn’t done. I don’t think the price on this is terrible*, it’s just too much work for me. (*My ‘83 was $2k bought used circa

You’re not entirely wrong. It was related to the Ford C1 platform, which spawned the Volvo s40 and Mk2 Focus. The US market never had the Mk2 Focus, instead extending the lifespan of the Mk1 (C170) Focus with a light facelift for 05-07, then a heavy facelift for 08-11. The Mk3 came for 2012 and then the US Focus was

US Focus and Mz3 of that period were not related.

I don’t have time, but this is the opposite of “urban sprawl.”

Spray the whiles a dark graphite color, fetch a “screaming chicken” hood decal from eBay in the same color, a mullet wig from Party City and some sunglasses- chef’s kiss.

I’m starting think that a Gen4 Firebird or Camaro would get you 8/10 of the swag with a few less headaches. The gray Firebird posted the other day wasn’t bad IMO.

Don’t disagree! I’ve tried to like Toyotas, tried really hard. But I just can’t. I like the current Civic a lot though, hybrid even more. Glad Mazda3 made the list. One of the best cars that nobody buys. I had a 1st Gen. Although it’s odd that Mazda3 made the list but the CX-5 and CX-30 didn’t since they’re all using

I got bored before I could finish clicking through this list.

There is a special place in hell for employers that rescind offers. Especially after leases have been signed and travel arrangements made, in which case compensation is due. And for the love of g*d kids, Do. Not. Ever. take an unpaid “internship” for any reason unless it comes with exceptional social or professional pe

You must live in Upper Whitestan or appalachia. God bless the latin folk. They can keep a beater going long after everyone else gave up. This morning I saw a Chevy Prizm with plenty of loving flair, quietly and smokelessly gliding along. Yeah we all know they’re Toyotas and will run until the apocalypse, but still not

I kind of like it. The price is not bad and the problems are probably GM parts bin fixable as a weekend project. I don’t like the color, but dechrome the wheels and it would be a fun cruiser. It’s tacky and outrageous like a C3 Corvette but less precious and probably easier to live with. 3800 V-6 is way better than

I’ve always thought used FoMoCo sedans were kind of a deal, on the used market. The depreciation is significant, but they’re not bad cars. I’m sort of partial to the MKZ sedan hybrid, based on the Fusion platform. It’s handsome, yet under the radar, with lots of comforts, and interior color choices besides black. Yeah

I’m a “government employee” (local). Most of my adult career was in the private sector before I changed, and I’m not lying- I work way harder now than when I was private. Just got back from dinner saying this exactly to a friend of mine I was catching up with.

Same with health care and “death panels.” We already have, but it’s not “the government.”

Gas Buddy is great when you get the payment card, and use the discounts (“deal alert”) via the app. You basically get a “cash” price. The 2 stations I’d get gas at anyway: 13 and 8 cents off regular. That’s not nothing. Did the app raise my rates? Impossible to prove anyway. I’m shopping for new carriers right now

Thanks. I have a 4a so I guess that means I’m impoverished. It does what I need, but the battery is starting to run out quickly.

P.S. I really like both blues, the smurf blue, but especially the darker one. More color diversity is always welcome! Honda had (has?) a eggplant, dark purple, or perhaps “smokey pearl amethyst” or something but I hardly ever see them.
