First (& last) trip was March. The whole place stinks of weed and despair.

(Another Jalop’s idea not mine.)
Take out the 3-pot for something else and make an Envista GNX.
No it wouldn’t be the same but it could be decently cool.

Nice, but not 20 grand nice.
Dealer-installed tape stripe packages (“special editions”) were big in the late 80's early 90's. In my area there was the F-150 “Big Stick” package a dealer had. I think it was a 5-speed XL with a few minor appearance upgrades and some stripes and I think a cowboy hat graphic or something.

I owned a 9-2x (for only 8 months, the quickest I ever bailed on a brand new car). At the time I was 6' and 190. I would not describe it has a car for some someone who self-describes as “rotund.” One of the many reasons why I dumped mine was because it was rather cramped feeling.

Heck, even my dad has been looking at the Flex recently as an alternative to buying a pickup truck.” I too considered this. The downside is that the seats aren’t removable like a minivan, so you’d need to unbolt and remove the seats completely, or everything has to go on top of the folded 2nd and 3rd row seats.

You’re right. Kids today want everything but won’t sacrifice, then want to be bailed out of their bad decisions. Now get off my lawn.

Iacocca in the 80s did the whole flag waving thing, leaning heavily against another (different) Asian foe. “Well equipped” base model K’s, Omni-rizons, and Shad-ances all were called “America” trims, so that was my train of thought. The Neon wasn’t that bad but lets hope they redesign the head gasket.

I didn’t respond, but I think the K-car/Neon suggestion has some merit. Similar time of economic agita and flag-waving jingoism. If the proposed tariffs are implemented, that could really shake things up (terribly) and present a business case for a low-cost domestically produced vehicle. Or Honda & Toyota could just

Was going to comment on the interior. Most of this age and mileage tend to be trashed inside. This was well cared for. NP (posting deleted so it must have sold.)

New frontiers in helicopter parenting.

I’ve only ridden in a Tesla once, in the back seat of an Uber. Besides it being uncomfortable with no room under the seat for my toes, I couldn’t figure out how to open the door from the inside. How did anybody not notice this might be a problem?

This is probably a little too rustic for me, but of the cheaper brands sold in developing countries, I kind of admire Dacia and Skoda. Skoda is not really cheap anymore, but I still like them a lot.

I can’t imagine a dinner table seated with Trump, Musk, Thiel, JD Vance, Ted Cruz, plus an estrogen boost from MTG.

The corruption is going to be off the charts. Truly government by an oligarchy.

For many years I was actually a dues-paying member of the SS US preservation group. It’s sad to see this outcome but I’m not surprised. The cost to restore is just too high, but this isn’t the worst end- All of the original interior is long gone, but the ship has been documented and photographed extensively, so we’ve

LA, Miami, NY. Maybe. Those just aren’t cars you see much in the rest of the US since they cost more than most peoples houses.

I can’t think of any Buicks and Cadillacs that currently overlap platforms, but I could be wrong.

I like the Envista a lot. I just wish it had a different engine. 1.2 3-cyl turbo with a wet timing belt I can’t take a risk on.

Jalops hate on Buick but I think Buick has a chance. It just won’t be a Jalop car line.

yeah I can see Pentagon, Wash. Monument, and Capitol dome all from my balcony, so it is small consolation that if stuff goes down, it will be over for me very quick.
