Long story, but from 2014-2017 I took a job and moved back to my home state about 1 hr from where I grew up. People would leave their car running, windows down, at convenience stores. Gas stations were always out of receipt tape at the pump bc most people just paid cash a few $ at a time.

I kind of thought I’d be seeing Santa Cruz everywhere in my area, but I’ve only ever seen a couple. On the other hand the Maverick is everywhere now.

My 93 Mazda B2200 had about the same power and I hauled overweight loads in it more than once, on freeways. It was fine.

And on top of that you’ve got all the Maryland drivers.

The Post reliably recycles Bay Bridge stories like this every few years. I’ve been over that bridge so many times in my life I’m sick of it. The last one I remember featured an interview and pics of some crazy lady (its usually women) curled up in a ball in the back of the escort minivan. Scared to death and

People this stupid should just be institutionalized and separated from society for everyone’s protection.

We all know about Buick’s market position in China. Thanks for the lecture.

I actually got my generations confused! I was thinking of the 3rd generation (82?-87?), which I liked better than the 4th gen, but the 4th gen was just as nice, but certainly not “dowdy.”

He’s got courts that would back him.

I briefly rode in one of these when new and was amazed (at the time) how smooth it seemed. The owner was a semi-genius who said he’d rewarded himself upon taking his PhD and got every option possible.

Korea, but whatever.

I really like these, and there is a great new blue color for 2025.
But I don’t like the idea of a 3-cyl turbo engine with a wet timing belt built by GM. If I was a serial leasee or somebody who bought/sold ever few years I wouldn’t care. If this was a decent NA 4-cyl or hybrid that had a known track record I’d consider

I love it when mother nature pushes back. He's lucky.

Toyota interiors have long been a huge turnoff. I get that some of the powertrains will run until the end of time, but I don’t think I could tolerate the pieces you have to look at and touch for that long.

I’ll be in Scandinavia in September and was thinking of putting Goteborg on my itinerary. If I can get to ride in some vintage Volvo iron that will seal the deal.

I heard recently on an interview that the acreage used in the US to produce corn used for ethanol would produce several multiples more energy if the land was used for solar “farms.”

I think about my 83 Civic almost daily. Such a sweet little thing.

Can we talk about car insurance? Got a bill last month and mine is up 28.6 percent from 1 year ago. I’m a 50-something guy driving a 14 year old 160k Ford. My rates are supposed to trend down not up. As it stands now, my monthly expense for insurance is often more than gas. One more reason I’ll probably be delaying a

If you think it’s a productive use of his time (i.e. your dollars) to micro-manage such issues that’s up to you. This kind of thing is common and all about optics and dog whistles. Most people see that pretty clearly.

I like the Electra version with the poofy velour seating, or leather, and amenities on par with Cadillacs. Those had decent status in my circles at the time. The engines were for smoothness, definitely not for racing. This one is nice but too plain to justify that price, and I’m very judgmental about for sale listings
