Honest question- I’ve never known these to but used except off road (on farms mostly). In states where they are registered for road use other than “Farm Use” tags, what’s the insurance situation?

Burn. But it’s true.
I don’t doubt that Lutz has plenty to say about everything.
It’s very debatable! Most sources say it ends in mid-late 80's (so 86 would count). The “Malaise Motors” Facebook group, which I participate in, extends it to ‘95, citing the widespread adoption of OBDII diagnostics by ‘96.
I love the super-stretched K. Especially the humble Dodge Dynasty, which with some blackout paint and a few tweaks could almost visually pass for a Volvo 700 series. Also one of my fave cars, I have a thing for boxy cars I guess.
Here’s what I recently figured out with Malaise-era Cadillacs. You’re usually better off with the Buick or Olds counterpart. If this was a Reatta I’d jump on it. It’s still NP though. If I had a garage this would be something fun to mess with for awhile and spruce up then sell it to the next guy.
Such as RV’s. I’m a local gov bureaucrat and I could get fired for WAY more minor stuff. Good to be a king I guess.
“Lamborghini got the engineering and finances it needed to create the Countach and Diablo”
I’ve rented Tacomas a few times and I don’t get it either. I’m not super tall, 5'11", but I can’t mount and dismount without banging my knees on the steering wheel, and the driving position just felt odd no matter how you tried to adjust things.
I’ve had 4 Mazdas. Loved them, but a/c is not one of Mazda’s strengths.
Well it’s not like a wealthy white South African of privilege who grew up in the apartheid era is going to care much about that.
I hope these people all got better jobs someplace else.
I like them. A lot. I just wish it had a different powertrain with a record behind it.
Where? China? Buick doesn’t sell any electric CUVs (yet).
I’m tired of Bob Lutz. Douchey old entitled white guy. Anyhow, I never understood the point of GMC. Nobody younger than a certain age really cared about Pontiac. I still think Saturn should have pivoted to be the alt-fuel, then hybrid, then eventually EV-focused brand. Nobody interested in EVs is going to walk into a…
Omnis and Horizons could be had with decent interiors too. Somewhat plush, everything color keyed (belts, dash, headliner, etc.). Very comfy seats. Almost a Buick with a hatchback.
Interesting. AMCs own 2.5 4-cyl came out a couple years later. It was a bit more powerful. Not a lot, but I remember it being commented as good at the time.
80s/90s Mazda swiveling air vents should have become mainstream. Same with GMs crotch cooler vents. This sweaty guy would welcome and pay for either, or even better, both.
Exactly. They’re willing to risk a finger for him, so here we are.
I did it to my brother with a 77 Buick Regal. It was his dumb idea to put his finger in the hinge.
