My favorite episode thanks to Tom Brooke.

Of all the episodes of the season, this was the one that brought me to tears. By the end of Fagan’s “interview” with the Queen, I found myself quietly crying for him, for the UK, for history. As much as I feel that “the plight of the working class” has come to be an excuse today (in the US at least) to justify racism,

“oh and in the late 1990s he became a drug dealer.”

His description of the palace paint job was amazing

That is insane.

“Makes love to frog” is mighty optimistic description there...

A great episode, and it really worked that we were suddenly in the middle of a Ken Loach film. One good thing about Britain is that they never stopped producing films, TV series and books about their working class.

Its probably my favorite episode of the season. I always love the isolated episode about historical events, like the Churchill painting or Abberfan. Also its nice to see genuine criticism of Maggie and not absurd statements like the Falklands over mother son issue. Although Michael Fagan should be noted that he got a

I knew about the famous incident, but I did not know that was his second visit.

I thought this episode was great. It worked spectacularly well and it all rested on Tom Brooke’s shoulders. I only recall him as one of the oddly affecting angels with cowboy hats as big as Dallas on Preacher (when it was fun). He was very appealing in Preacher, a compelling alien presence, but in this episode of the

Gillian Anderson is doing a fine Spitting Image impression.

What’s more offensive is that the lead in to this idea was the idea they had her express in episode 1: that women in high office are too emotional. That was played for irony in episode 1 and is fresh in our minds here as the show implies that her decisions on the Falklands were emotional decisions. There is lots of

Problem with V For Vendetta is that it 100% hinges on the false promise (and even nastier implication) that lunatic leftie Michael Foot wins the 1983 election, declares Britain Switzerland 2.0 and while sparing Britain from being wiped out in WW3, fucks Britain up so royally that fascists take over purely off the fact

Is the spoiler that it was filmed in British Columbia and not Montana?

I figured the spoiler would be that the killer is John Carroll Lynch.

I mean, if ever you wanted to convince me to watch a show with Ryan Phillippe in it, that spoiler would do the trick.

Regarding The Crown, Morgan plays pretty fast and loose with the facts. That whole scene back in I think it was season 2 where Phillip is berated and blamed by his father for his sister’s death at her funeral? Never happened. Phillip’s father didn’t even attend his daughter’s funeral. And no one blamed Phillip for

Ironically the main bad guy from the film version of V for Vendetta is in the show.

The woman thwarted her own kidnapping and they didn’t include it!

V for Vendetta and other British pop culture made in reaction to Thatcher has been on my mind as I watch this show. The Beat’s “Stand Down Margaret” comes to mind.
