yeah, but he’s also terrible in his natural accent in The Fall, so...

this doesn’t sound that remarkable a thought, to be honest. What I’d like to know is why do middle-aged music fans cough me cough find new music so interesting? I should be only listening to early 80's new wave, so why am I digging the new alternative stuff and not just the old alternative stuff? Or perhaps some of us

hm. Approach with caution. I thought it was hugely overrated. Anderson is always good, but the story is rote and Dornan is... one mans “smolderingly intense” is anothers “somnolently monotonous”

i know what you mean, but isn’t the point that learning the language and having her brain rewired does throw our understanding of physics out the window?

nah, I actually used the word correctly, whereas Alanis, bless her...

Ironically, Mikaela Shiffrin looks more like Captain Marvel (in the comics) than Brie Larson does.

now I want to hear the Daft Punk soundtrack for Bring It On!

it’s a rite-of-passage for every actor to try the Kennedy accent, isn’t it? Good luck, Peggy!

if this is as good as Daft Punks Tron album, Bring. It. On.

i meant as a symbol for Chinese Super-Man. Yeah, it doesn’t work for Kal, but I’m still surprised that I haven’t seen it in Hot Topic.

the yin and yang S shield is a brilliant “why didn’t someone thing of that before” idea. Big improvement on his original shield.

I have zero recollection of this being marketed as a kids movie - quite the opposite, actually: it was the first wave of the “POW! BAM! Comics aren’t for kids anymore!” headline cliches. It didn’t hurt that kids went, but it was aimed squarely at adults.

I’m in the middle of binging Breaking Bad for the first time and i hate everyone of you for not telling me how badly season two sucks. Season three better live up to the reputation...

at least tell us about Tea, which would account for at least 3 of the words in “a pretty fucking interesting life”

I like American Gigolo, but I thought Gere was just ok in it i.e. he didn’t mess it up. Which is faint praise but still better than most any other movie he’s been in since.

you’re right, he was quite charming on Graham Norton, so I was wondering if he’s got any better at that whole y’know, acting thing. But seems not!

is Jamie Dornan as terrible in these movies as he is in The Fall? Or: where is he on a “can’t act but is very pretty” scale of 1 to 10 Richard Gere’s?

the influence of animation art has been one of the most interesting developments in comic art in the last decade. Bring it on, makes the landscape much richer.

I think you buried the lede - that new Alex Garland movie is on Netflix? It’s not getting a theatrical release?
