People are nuanced and complex and say stupid shit sometimes that isn’t necessarily indicative of who they are but rather a one of a handful of flubbed comments over 6 decades of public life. It’s fair to criticize her over that but myopic to condemn her entirely.

I’d like to make a case for:

Dogs-Pigs-Sheep all day

U2, The Joshua Tree: “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” “With or Without You” (bonus: “Bullet the Blue Sky” is pretty great too)

There was going to be a dramatic reveal in the third film where she finds an old preschool registration form where her name is listed as “Rey Binks.”

Not a comb, that’s for damn sure.

You’ll notice how the fog cleverly obscures his feet during the performance, also. . . Hmm!

Because it is embarrassing. For whatever reason (many, really) it is going to dig at his narcissistic ego until he can freak out.

I want to speak up in defense of the book of American Psycho.

Well, in the books Frodo gets the ring on Bilbo’s birthday and then leaves for the adventure 17 years later.

Be sure to drink your ovaltine?

The bow thing was pretty corny, it really deserved the treatment it got.

What does Soylent Green taste like? It varies from person to person.

Now having finished reading the article, I will say that even though I have always and still think Mario Batali is a supercilious jerk, as sexual harassment apologies go this one is pretty well done. No victim blaming. No “that’s not indicative of who I am as a person.” No multiple mentions of how much he is admired.

I’m glad. I would be particularly excited about Ellison. Walz is eyeing the governor’s mansion though, is he not?

I’m from Minnesota. I love Al Franken. I still love him despite this horrible thing he has done. He is a good man that has done lots of great things for people. He is not irreplaceable. Minnesota has a deep bench of politicians like Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, and Betty McCollum that would do a good job like Al.

To me, insisting that multiple credible accusations of sexual misconduct render one unfit to serve in the Senate seems like the exact opposite of surrendering.

Nope, sorry, the correct answer here is that all people are either 100% good or 100% bad, and you have to pick one and then argue about it forever.
