That original Z4 hit all the right spots. It was an improvement on every aspect of the Z3, but managed to not lose sight of what was good about the Z3. The suspension was better, interior was better, and the engine selection was great.

I love reading wrenching stories, even if they are less than successful.
How do the third row seats compare to the third row in a Durango? I like a lot of how this GV80 looks, but the third row is where I get nervous. I can live with a lack of storage with the third row up, so that’s not an issue for us.
I also plan to detail my cars this weekend. We’ll see how my neck holds up, but it’s all that resembles working on cars that fits within the criteria the doctor has for me.
Was making healthy progress on my RX-8 and 540iT, as well as my house (even though, these are lifelong projects more than COVID projects). Unfortunately, I had to have 3 vertebrae in my neck fused, so I am out of commission for a few months. At least it feels like the surgery helped a lot.
At first I was like, how did it get so expensive - but those conversions are a ton of parts/work. I can relate with you on uncovered expenses - my son has ASD (high functioning) and nothing outside of medication is covered by insurance. My wife is an attorney and I’d say about 75% of her take home pay is spent on…
Same. If I know I’ll use a tool a lot, I will spend a few bucks more on it. It also depends on the price difference. If the top level tool is only like 20% more, I’ll probably spend that for a better tool.
Also, old WRX’s were always just the starting point. No one cared that it only had 225 hp from the factory since having a turbo already installed from the factory makes additional power easy to come by (at the expense of reliability and transmissions).
Yeah, not sure why this wasn’t suggested immediately.
Too bad the GT500 is being viewed as a replacement for the GT350. I would also rather have a GT350, just like I always look at the Grand Sport as the best version of the Corvette.
Evil bastard! You get to live the 911 life now!
Plus the 5" it added in length. Interior looks nicer, so it probably added 50 lbs there. As someone else said in a reply, 3600 is probably right, may be closer to 3700.
Didn't see the weight listed. That is concerning.
There was a racing game from Capcom (I think) that was cell shaded. It was a pretty cool concept back then and looked awesome - as close to playing an anime racing game as anything could be. I do remember it made me feel sick, like it gave me motion sickness. Too bad, it was cool to look at.
Yeah, I’m just going to use the “latest” link. That’s actually a good tip - best thing about the site redesign news.
A single thin strip of wood at a character line down the side of the car would be a good way to have an homage to the older generations. Closer to the last ones you made, but even smaller. However, the design is awful looking and that little detail wouldn’t help. Guess it couldn’t hurt?
Isn’t the only jalop approved car a diesel, rwd, manual wagon in brown or is that only for traditional auto journalists?
I can’t believe the talent pool of waiting drivers isn’t large enough that the teams can’t find someone else who hasn’t been recorded saying something terrible. I haven’t followed NASCAR closely since the mid-00's, but is he a Lewis Hamilton level talent? If not, he really must have some good sponsors or a well…
Which owner group with enthusiastic owners does not have a negative stigma?
It would still be functional with a normal sized kidney grill and a single opening in the bottom, like on the previous M cars. They could taper the middle bar just as well, pulling it forward a bit to bound the bottom of the kidney grills, and not look ridiculous.
