Generally on AC settings there was always an “auto” setting on channel selection. I’m not seeing that in my router’s pages. It may in fact be able to hop around as needed, but it isn’t evident in Netgear’s current firmware for me anyway. Found some other issues with the current firmware Netgear is using that affect Read more

I can definitely see your point. I think there are 20 or so visible devices when I do a scan, maybe a few more at very low strength. You’re right there are about as many 5ghz as there are 2.4, about half and half. I have a Ubiquiti device I can use to do freq. scans in the 5ghz range so it helps to choose a channel, Read more

Current WiFi 6 isn’t really worth the upgrade anyway.  Most of the time it’ll net you maybe 100-200mbit faster transfers.  Occasionally you’ll see gigabit speed but it’ll be a rare occasion.  90% of the time I see speeds around 600mbit with WiFi 6, and was getting around 400+ with WiFi 5. The router upgrade was over Read more

Nobody in those pictures has an “assault” rifle. Just because a gun looks sporty, or looks like a military version, or handles more than 6 rounds in a magazine doesn’t make it an “assault” rifle. There really is no such thing. That’s a term that was created to make you fear guns. Read more

I certainly hope that the conditions you mention are dealt with going forward.  Because if they are not, then all the shut down did was delay the risk rather than mitigate it.  The virus is still out there, we don’t have a cure or vaccine, and we are going to “re-open the economy” shortly because the almighty dollar Read more

I was referring to insurance companies as red tape in your first response.  Safety is paramount, but if a grocery store worker can be there to sell you food safely then I think a closed set could be workable and safe if there is effort put into making it safe.  I still go to work every day.

I figured it had to do with red tape somewhere along the line.  /sigh

I know actors, producers, etc. all need to stay safe as well, but you’d think they could work around this pandemic, get all the filming done at once after everyone involved is quarantined for a couple of weeks to be sure. It’s starting to seem like a lot of shows are postponed for no real reason. Like TWD, editing not Read more

I am told by the “Get my Payment” website that my status cannot be retrieved presently.  Probably because I have not filed 2019 yet (because the deadline was extended) and although I filed 2018, I usually don’t get a return so I need to give them my banking info unless I want to wait on a paper check.  It’s likely any Read more

I’m the same way, I pay the IRS with my bank account but I am assuming that I will have to give them direct deposit information when they have the site ready next week. Otherwise I’d have to wait on a paper check.  This question has been avoided so far in any guidance that has been given so assume you’ll need to give Read more

Glad you are well! I know everyone here is preparing for healthcare overload. It hasn’t happened except in places like New York I don’t believe, but we all expect it to. People just aren’t taking it seriously. They are too worried about planting flowers, getting the best deal on sales for Spring for their lawn Read more

So has emergency services ever called you back? If they did I missed it in the article. It sounds great that they have universal health care, but other than being able to call a number it really hasn’t done you much good has it? Had you been worse off what are the chances you think you’d have died waiting on someone Read more

Put 5G, 6G, 20G, I don’t care what G, on the stupid towers and it still won’t matter if you feed them with a slow ass backbone. We have 4-5 bars of LTE everywhere here with AT&T but guess what.. if you can get more than 3-4mbit of speed out of it you’re lucky. LTE is capable of much more.

/sigh, then HBO won’t get a subscription from me until summer of 2019. Unless of course they bring out something else new in the meantime that is worth it, like a new season of Westworld... oh wait.. that might not come out until 2020.. lol. I appreciate they make good stuff, but time in between needs to shorten to Read more
