I don’t usually participate in online discussions, but I had to give my response to this article. The irony of this month being Pride month is not lost on me. It can feel sometimes like we have lost large portions of the few wins that we fought for in the last nine years, and that knowledge is depressing.

The premise of this op-ed is all over the shop. It’s almost like saying that being half-white gains you some, like, super secret brownie points or something.

Her article comes across as someone who is still struggling with identity yet has dressed it up and monetized for discussion.

While this woman definitely did some bad shit and deserved to be locked up, I am concerned about her death. Prison is a notoriously terrible place for trans folks.
