Lego sets have been close to the same price per brick for years and years.

Here’s a set from 1995 with 850 bricks, original MSRP $90, price per brick .11c.

The price for Lego sets has remained uncharacteristically static for decades, hovering right around 10.5 cents per brick. This set below, from 1999, has 266 bricks, 4 minifigs, and an MSRP of $30, and a price per brick of 11.3c.

Right now there are black extremists in the US calling for the slaughter of all white people, and no one silences them or flocks to support them. Most people, white and black, pretty much ignore them, because they’re the lunatic fringe.

The horrifying thing to consider when looking at this is how Intersectionality and identity politics acts like a force multiplier to this process.

Think about what the next Russian Meddling In Elections might be, and what a different nuclear power might do in response. What might Pakistan or India, for example, do if their power grids were badly compromised along with a massive falls information attack.

The most likely AI Apocalypse scenario is probably going to be nation states declaring war on each other as one or the other is gets closer and closer to achieving AI. There is no MAD for AI, there is only the AI winning, and whoever gets there first is going to win.

The first AI that evolves sentience will simply be a human scale intellect that has access to computational capacity of a similar nature. And quite likely it will have had its neural systems built by people leveraging the same computational capacity in themselves. It will not find itself a lone intelligence in a sea…
