I got a yellow card for shrugging at "shake it off."

Some people just can't get through the day unless they have something to torment them.

It ain't easy bein' white…

You'll probably find you knew some of his songs without realizing it. I hadn't heard the name until maybe last year, but a crash course in his music turned up a lot of familiar stuff.

Thanks, but we have our own ways of making ourselves sound stupid.

Holding that smile is making her face ache

So much good advice in that short speech.
"Avoid fuckups; you know the type."

Furthermore, you can afford to lose people who don't believe in you.

Also, drunker people, crazier people, and bigger assholes.
(How do they do it?)

Not with that attitude.

I don't even remember the Maine portion being all that bad; it's just a kneejerk pang of despair I get when I think about getting on 95.

Don't forget to check out the new Homestar toon!

I'd have an existential crisis in a Cincinnati hotel too.

I think it's an effective image, as of a layer of something accumulating to make your attention flag so you look without seeing. There's a scene in The Horses Mouth where Alec Guinness describes seeing a painting that transformed him into an artist: "it skinned my eyes for me."

Sounds like your Gamba paid off.

I dunno. MA is a pretty big place, and I've been all over it without detecting any real unifying theme. I think the thing this article is referring to is the way that a largish city like Boston can retain some of the qualities of a small town.

Ugh, you lost me at i95.

I think Conn. is one of the few states where I haven't seen that type of geographical exceptionalism. Certainly heard my fill of "only in Alaska" when I lived there.

I was in Worcester the year the Sox won the WS, and from the spontaneous cheers and general goodwill it sounded like it was worth the wait.

You must not have seen an Aikido master in action. They can fuck you up, and even some of their soft moves can be incredibly painful. They even have striking attacks for the very advanced. Two Aikido masters would relish the opportunity to train against each other and be grateful for it.
