That engine is more than what would be used in the 8-9 year old class. Think more of a near stock 5hp briggs and stratton, I think they were called Raptor engines. I used to race Jr Dragsters many years ago. In these younger age classes they are basically a stock 5hp briggs in a fully caged “go cart”. Don’t confuse this as some fast high powered dragster. Older age classes can get reasonably quick. There are rules upon rules and many safety regulations from full 5 point
