Wow. No it isn’t that simple. My kids’ grandparents and great-grandparents would like to see them before they are 5. They will be flying. I will work to keep them as quiet and well-behaved as possible.

Excuse me, I never said I was tired or in over my head. I also never said I would make them your problem - in fact I work very hard to keep them from being your problem. I just asked that you be nice and show a little understanding.

Ok, this is a little fresh for me since I just flew with my kids last week. We spent the entire flight shuffling books and iPads and snacks to keep the flight pleasant for everyone. We talk about consideration of others every day with the kids, and generally they are great, but occasionally they forget: the 6 year old

What you really need is most fatal accidents per capita. Notice the top 3 on your list are also the top 3 most populous states…

What’s with the hate for parents? Kids are not all failures of birth control - some people actually choose to be parents. It sometimes sucks (especially flying with little kids) but it makes the parents more flexible, less selfish people. You are right that you should communicate with the parents, but please try to be

Do you want to come to my place and watch the kids so my wife and I can go on vacation? No? Ok, well we’re not going to forego vacations for 10 years just so you can have a more pleasant flight experience.

Sorry Elizabeth, that could have been my 6-year-old. I was busy picking up the goldfish that my 4-year-old dropped, and trying to keep the baby from reaching between the seats and grabbing your hair.

Actually all of the ‘ludes are becoming rare.

Yes, buy good tires… unless they are track tires. My $300 Michelin PSS tires lasted 4 track days, just like my $115 Federal RS-RRs. That price difference isn’t worth it, even if the Michelins were slightly faster…

I guess the crucial question is how much Hamilton was understeering. If he was 80 to 90% alongside at corner entry and managed to hold his line inside through the corner, then I think any crash would have been Max’s fault. Lewis did use all the space at corner exit, indicating that he would have pushed Max off if Max

I’m a Verstappen fan and I don’t know how this is being described as a “dangerous move.” Maybe low percentage, but I’m glad Hamilton went for it. He pulled essentially even with Max, and couldn’t have left much more room for Max either. I think blame for this one is squarely 50/50.

I’m another Flagstaffer. This is some of the best reporting I’ve seen on the flooding - way to go Jalop! Most stories miss the fact that this is a direct result of the museum fire 2 years ago, and that these residents have been expecting this (with sandbags and fortifications in place) for 2 years.

This is common in cities like Phoenix and Tucson where the desert ground doesn’t absorb rain and where they don’t build storm sewers. Flagstaff is a different climate (mountain forest) and this is very atypical. Probably wouldn’t have happened without the burn scar…

Hmmm, I bought and rebuilt a 24h Lemons car during Covid and now I’m shopping for a tow vehicle. Does that count as a real NEED? I guess not, there are people out there who need transportation more than me. But it still sucks to compete for the few used F250s and Ram 2500s against the “brand new Covid camper” crowd

E30 325s are nice (I have one) but even they feel pretty slow today. This will never be a track car, but it will still be fun when hustled thanks to the e30 chassis. Mostly it will be a unique showpiece for an E30 fan (of which there are many). I’m inclined to say the motor doesn’t matter as long as it is reliable.

Yeah I don’t think this is plausible for cars. I don’t think anyone can reliably store anything over 50 million psi. Even if there is a “metastable” form used for rocket fuel, I don’t think we want people crashing into each other with it on board.

Take a look at Birkins. They are quite a bit cheaper (close to half price depending on the model), look just as good, and are arguably better engineered.

Seems like lots of people are concerned confused about these motors’ environmental impact. They may be the most “efficient” motors around, meaning that they are good at turning chemical energy into mechanical energy. Two strokes are efficient because half of the strokes (i.e. friction) are power strokes, and moving

One time I went in and asked the cashier - she told me it was because there was “air in the line” and I should stop pumping, wait a minute and restart. And it worked!
