How much extra do your sponsors pay for you to put ads in between the pictures and the captions? It is very irritating.

Sure they get more “loans” this way but the loans are much smaller. I think they would have raised more cash if they had asked for $2500 deposits like they did for the Y.

They got $100 from me. I’m not paying more until I get a delivery date.

I’ll admit, I’m self conscious about the styling of my cars. I like them to age well. My first car was a gen 5 Prelude and I now drive a Focus RS that I have toned down with an ST wing. I refuse to consider a CTR because of the looks.

Yup. Nobody is talking about how at $40K this undercuts the Rivian by probably 30 grand. Rivian starts at $70 for ~230 miles range and probably goes over $100 if you want the 400 mile battery. And despite the occasional bullshit, Tesla is the market leader in self driving tech and charging infrastructure.

I reserved one... Here’s the plan:

Well, I preordered one... $100 isn’t a huge bet to place on it. I’m lukewarm on the looks but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that this will off-road better than my Ranger 4x4, drive 300 miles before charging on country’s biggest supercharger network, and tow my fun car to the track, all for $20K cheaper than a

Any word on weight? 300 hp isn’t gonna feel all that impressive if it weighs 4000 lbs with the big engine and electric motor and battery. The current one weighs 3800 and I’ll bet this is more.

Well this one is supposed to be zero emissions so...

At the risk of sounding dumb, why do some people downshift through each gear (5-4-3-2) rather than simply dropping 5-2? I’ve heard people argue that on the road, this always keeps you in the right gear in case you need to accelerate, but that doesn’t make sense on a track.

That’s an interesting option. I’m curious how far it can go in electric-only mode. It would probably get poor gas mileage towing. I’d like to be able to do a track day using only the gas I burn on track, even if that means stopping at a supercharger on the way to the track. That would be good for my climate guilt

Yes, you’re right, it can tow 5000. I knew 3000 sounded small.

Now playing

Yeah. I need 4wd and high clearance about once a month to get to a hike or climb or campsite. For a moment I overcame my SUV aversion and considered a Model X. It can tow 3000 lbs which I would probably be ok with. Then I saw this video of its off-road chops

I’m really excited for this thing. I want to commute in an electric car, but I won’t give up my Focus RS that currently does DD duty. That means that my electric car will have to replace my beater truck, and honestly the truck bed is a rather low priority. I just want something electric that can go off-road and tow a

Yeah. In my experience that is a good test of a salesman. How quickly do they realize that I’m not some rando person who wandered in off the street? I am there for a specific car, and I want to discuss total price, not monthly payment.

I’m 6’5” and mostly leg so I don’t need to jam my knees up when they start to recline. My knees are already there. Once or twice people have gotten upset when I told them they literally have no room to recline. They seem to understand when they see me stand up (and hunch over) at the end of the flight.

I also thought “it should be hiking boots instead of heels” but then realized that this thing will have no off-road ability. The added height is only there to make moms feel big and powerful. So... heels.

I’ve gotta say I’m a little disappointed. I think part of the problem is they moved the headlights out to the corners. The C7R has the headlights in the stock location which really accentuates the arch flares and makes it look wide and aggressive.

I guess technically the STI has languished most. Under the skin it is the same car from 15 years ago. If you’re keeping track that is four generations (blobeye, hawkeye, stinkeye, and the current). The Impreza got a new 5th generation but Subaru didn’t make a WRX or STI - they just kept selling the old ones.
