I feel your pain. I have an embarrassing last name. Frequently people ask me, ‘is that your real name” as if I marched right up to the dork-box and picked out the stupidest last name I could find. Fortunately, I grew up in a town where it is a very common name so no one thought twice about it.

Your poor cousin and aunt! My sisters and I always thought that if the door flew open while the car was moving we’d be sucked out as if we were in the vacuum of space. Being outside of the car meant instant death!

I know it is hard. We all want to feel like we have some control over this. Hang in there and keep checking on the news from the scientists. The more data they get, the more accurate their recommendations will be.

right - my sisters and I rolled around in the backseat like a bunch of bowling balls. We deliberately tried to crush each other against the door when the car would go around a corner. Hard to believe we survived. 

You are right we need to change our culture - or at least, try to live up to the ideals of our culture (“we hold these truths to be self evident” culture). But, depending on where you live, may be a problem that needs fixing. Certainly that is true in my town. I’d like to see the use of tear gas banned and more…

I feel like this is 90% of the youtube videos out there...hot takes on serial killers, movies or books without novel insights. Some people want the attention of their peers to validate their actions/feelings...i don’t understand the motivations.

I feel like that rule could apply to about 90% of the comments in social media that aren’t goofy memes. I guess people are looking for validation I shouldn’t be judgy. Judgie? Judge Judy? who knows...pls judge my grammar

I miss my neighborhood theater I can walk to, and our local Alamo Drafthouse. I bought give certificates for future shows for friends or rewards for coworkers - I hope both theaters can hang in there long enough to make it through the shutdown. This is devastating for them :-/
