I think that's how they explained it in marketing terms but Craig's Bond is absolutely nothing like Fleming's Bond. None of the film Bonds is really anything like the book Bonds - except perhaps Connery in 'From Russia With Love'.
There's no evidence of that.
I'd love to see what Craig could do with a really good writer who can actually write great schlock Bond dialogue, like Stoppard or Martin Amis, just as previous Bonds were able to do with previous Bond writers like Roald Dahl, George Macdonald Fraser and Herbert Manckiewisz.
People are mistaking 'bait-and-switch' for 'plot twist or reversal', no?

You hate White Power Bill.
Ummm, it's vice-versa.
"my Mom missed my birthday"
No wonder Ed Begley looked so happy. He must have been wearing his Oh Joyous New Beginning eyebrows.
I think we the core message of The Officer's writers, directors and producers came across very clearly in this season finale:
Poor Toby. I wish one nice thing had happened to him. Of all the characters he was one of my favourites because he was funny *and* believable. No-one understood Toby. They just thought he was a boneless sad sack. HE WAS WORTH A THOUSAND MICHAEL SCOTTS!
No, no. What I meant was that he goes to live on a lovely farm where he can eat pies all day and play in the mud.
Absolutely! How could I have forgotten about her? What the producers did to that actress was a criminal waste. Do you think she pissed them off somehow?
Where is your absence of God now, Hitchens?
The James Bond reboot is my least favourite bait-and-switch,
He will go bankrupt in three months then be arrested when it becomes clear that because he didn't understand how the draught pipes worked, he had poisoned some customers, on release from jail he will be homeless and then die on the streets because he cannot feed, clean or clothe himself.
Except Lindsay. The Bluths stole her,
Amen to that.
I agree. I think Clark could have been great.
